1. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజును ఏలా కుమారుడునైన హోషేయ యేలుబడిలో మూడవ సంవత్సరమందు యూదారాజును ఆహాజు కుమారుడునైన హిజ్కియా యేలనారంభించెను.

1. In the third year of Hoshea the son of Elah king of Israel, Hezekiah the son of Ahaz, king of Judah, began to rule.

2. అతడు ఏలనారంభించినప్పుడు ఇరువది యయిదేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేమునందు ఇరువది తొమ్మిది సంవత్సరములు ఏలెను. అతని తల్లి జెకర్యా కుమార్తె; ఆమెకు అబీ అని పేరు.

2. He was twenty-five years old when he became king. And he ruled for twenty-nine years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Abi the daughter of Zechariah.

3. తన పితరుడైన దావీదు చేసినట్లు అతడు యెహోవా దృష్టికి పూర్ణముగా నీతిననుసరించెను.

3. Hezekiah did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, just as his father David had done.

4. ఉన్నత స్థలములను కొట్టివేసి విగ్రహములను పగులగొట్టి దేవతా స్తంభ ములను పడగొట్టి మోషేచేసిన యిత్తడి సర్పమును ఛిన్నాభిన్నములుగా చేసెను. దానికి ఇశ్రాయేలీయులు నెహుష్టానను పేరుపెట్టి దానికి ధూపము వేయుచు వచ్చియుండిరి

4. He took away the high places. He broke down the holy pillars used in worship and cut down the Asherah. And he broke in pieces the brass snake that Moses had made. For until those days the people of Israel burned special perfume to it. It was called Nehushtan.

5. అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవా యందు విశ్వాసముంచినవాడు; అతని తరువాత వచ్చిన యూదా రాజులలోను అతని పూర్వికులైన రాజులలోను అతనితో సమమైనవాడు ఒకడునులేడు.

5. Hezekiah trusted in the Lord, the God of Israel. There was no one like him among all the kings of Judah before him or after him.

6. అతడు యెహోవాతో హత్తుకొని, ఆయనను వెంబడించుటలో వెనుక తీయక ఆయన మోషేకు ఆజ్ఞాపించిన ఆజ్ఞలన్నిటిని గైకొనుచుండెను.

6. For he held to the Lord and did not stop following Him. He kept His Laws which the Lord had given Moses.

7. కావున యెహోవా అతనికి తోడుగా ఉండెను; తాను వెళ్లిన చోట నెల్ల అతడు జయము పొందెను. అతడు అష్షూరు రాజునకు సేవచేయకుండ అతనిమీద తిరుగబడెను.

7. And the Lord was with him. Hezekiah did well in every place he went. He turned against the king of Assyria and did not work for him.

8. మరియు గాజా పట్టణమువరకు దాని సరిహద్దులవరకు కాపరుల గుడిసెలయందేమి, ప్రాకారములుగల పట్టణములయందేమి, అంతటను అతడు ఫిలిష్తీయులను ఓడించెను.

8. He destroyed the Philistines as far as Gaza and its land, from the smallest town to the strongest city.

9. రాజైన హిజ్కియా యేలుబడిలో నాలుగవ సంవత్సర మందు, ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన ఏలా కుమారు డగు హోషేయ యేలుబడిలో ఏడవ సంవత్సరమందు, అష్షూరురాజైన షల్మ నేసెరు షోమ్రోను పట్ణణముమీదికి వచ్చి ముట్టడివేసెను.

9. In the fourth year of King Hezekiah, the seventh year of Elah's son Hoshea king of Israel, King Shalmaneser of Assyria came to fight against Samaria. His army gathered around it.

10. మూడు సంవత్సరములు పూర్తియైన తరువాత అష్షూరీయులు దాని పట్టుకొనిరి. హిజ్కియా యేలుబడిలో ఆరవ సంవత్సరమందు, ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన హోషేయ యేలు బడిలో తొమ్మిదవ సంవత్సరమందు షోమ్రోను పట్టణము పట్టబడెను.

10. At the end of three years they took the city. Samaria was taken by Assyria in the sixth year of Hezekiah and the ninth year of King Hoshea of Israel.

11. తమ దేవుడైన యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన మాట విననివారై ఆయన నిబంధనకును ఆయన సేవకుడైన మోషే ఆజ్ఞాపించిన దానంతటికిని లోబడక అతిక్రమించి యుండిరి.

11. Then the king of Assyria carried the people of Israel away against their will to Assyria. He had them live in Halah and on the Habor, the river of Gozan, and in the cities of the Medes.

12. అష్షూరు రాజు ఇశ్రాయేలు వారిని అష్షూరు దేశములోనికి తీసికొని పోయి గోజాను నది దగ్గరనున్న హాలహు హాబోరు అను పట్టణములలోను మాదీయుల పట్టణములలోను వారిని ఉంచెను.

12. Because the people of Israel did not obey the voice of the Lord their God. They sinned against His agreement and even all that the Lord's servant Moses told them. They would not listen or obey.

13. రాజైన హిజ్కియా యేలుబడిలో పదునాలుగవ సంవ త్సరమందు అష్షూరురాజైన సన్హెరీబు యూదా దేశ మందున్న ప్రాకారములుగల పట్టణములన్నిటి మీదికి వచ్చి వాటిని పట్టుకొనగా

13. In the fourteenth year of King Hezekiah, King Sennacherib of Assyria came and fought against all the strong cities of Judah and took them.

14. యూదారాజైన హిజ్కియా లాకీషు పట్టణమందున్న అష్షూరు రాజునొద్దకు దూతలను పంపినావలన తప్పు వచ్చినది;నాయొద్దనుండి తిరిగి నీవు వెళ్లిపోయినయెడల నామీద నీవు మోపినదానిని నేను భరించుదునని వర్తమానముచేయగా, అష్షూరురాజు యూదా రాజైన హిజ్కియాకు ఆరు వందల మణుగుల వెండియు అరువది మణుగుల బంగారమును జుల్మానాగా నియ మించెను.

14. Then King Hezekiah of Judah sent word to the king of Assyria at Lachish, saying, 'I have done wrong; leave me. I will pay whatever you ask.' So the king of Assyria had Hezekiah king of Judah pay him silver weighing as much as 300 men, and gold weighing as much as thirty men.

15. కావున హిజ్కియా యెహోవా మందిర మందును రాజనగరునందున్న పదార్థములలో కనబడిన వెండియంతయు అతనికిచ్చెను.

15. Hezekiah gave him all the silver that was found in the house of the Lord, and in the store-rooms of the king's house.

16. మరియు ఆ కాలమందు హిజ్కియా దేవాలయపు తలుపులకున్న బంగారమును తాను కట్టించిన స్తంభములకున్న బంగారమును తీయించి అష్షూరు రాజునకిచ్చెను.

16. Then he cut the gold off the doors of the Lord's house. He cut the gold from the sides of the door which King Hezekiah of Judah had covered with gold. And he gave it to the king of Assyria.

17. అంతట అష్షూరురాజు తర్తానును రబ్సారీసును రబ్షా కేనును లాకీషు పట్టణమునుండి యెరూష లేమునందున్న రాజైన హిజ్కియామీదికి బహు గొప్ప సమూహముతో పంపెను. వారు యెరూషలేముమీదికి వచ్చి చాకిరేవు మార్గమందున్న మెరకకొలను కాలువ యొద్ద ప్రవేశించి నిలిచి రాజును పిలువనంపగా

17. Then the king of Assyria sent Tartan, Rab-saris and Rabshakeh with a large army from Lachish to King Hezekiah at Jerusalem. So they went up and came to Jerusalem. They came and stood by the ditch of the upper pool, which is on the road to the fuller's field.

18. హిల్కీయా కుమారుడును గృహనిర్వాహకుడునైన ఎల్యా కీమును, శాస్త్రియగు షెబ్నాయును, రాజ్యపుదస్తావేజుల మీద నున్న ఆసాపు కుమారుడైన యోవాహును వారి యొద్దకు పోయిరి.

18. When they called to the king, Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebnah, and Joah the son of Asaph came out to them. Eliakim was the head of the house. Shebnah was the writer, and Joah wrote down the things of the nation.

19. అప్పుడు రబ్షాకే వారితో ఇట్లనెనుఈ మాట హిజ్కియాతో తెలియజెప్పుడుమహా రాజైన అష్షూరురాజు సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగానీవు ఈలాగు చెప్పవలెను. నీవు నమ్ముకొను ఈ ఆశ్రయాస్పదము ఏపాటి ప్రయోజనకారి?

19. Rabshakeh said to them, 'Say to Hezekiah, 'This is what the great king of Assyria says. 'What is this strength of heart that you have?

20. యుద్ధ విషయములో నీ యోచనయు నీ బలమును వట్టి మాటలే. ఎవని నమ్ముకొని నామీద తిరుగుబాటు చేయుచున్నావు?

20. You say with empty words, 'I have wisdom and strength for war.' On whom do you trust, that you have turned against me?

21. నలిగిన రెల్లువంటి యీ ఐగుప్తును నీవు నమ్ముకొనుచున్నావు గదా ఒకడు దానిమీద ఆనుకొన్నయెడల అది వానిచేతికి గుచ్చు కొని దూసి పోవును. ఐగుప్తురాజైన ఫరో అతని నమ్ముకొను వారి కందరికిని అట్టివాడే.

21. Look, you are trusting now in Egypt. It is a walking stick like a piece of broken river-grass. It will cut into a man's hand if he rests on it. So is Pharaoh king of Egypt to all who trust in him.

22. మా దేవుడైన యెహోవాను మేము నమ్ముకొనుచున్నామని మీరు నాతో చెప్పెద రేమో సరే. - యెరూషలేమందున్న యీ బలిపీఠమునొద్ద మాత్రమే మీరు నమస్కారము చేయవలెనని యూదా వారికిని యెరూషలేమువారికిని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి హిజ్కియా యెవని ఉన్నతస్థలములను బలిపీఠములను పడగొట్టెనో ఆయనేగదా యెహోవా?

22. You might tell me, 'We trust in the Lord our God.' But is it not He Whose high places and altars Hezekiah has taken away? And has he not said to Judah and Jerusalem, 'You must worship in front of this altar in Jerusalem'?

23. కావున చిత్తగించి అష్షూరు రాజైన నా యేలినవానితో పందెము వేయుము; రెండువేల గుఱ్ఱములమీద రౌతులను ఎక్కించుటకు నీకు శక్తియున్న యెడల నేను వాటిని నీకిచ్చెదను.

23. Come now, make an agreement with my ruler the king of Assyria. And I will give you 2,000 horses, if you are able to put horsemen on them.

24. అట్లయితే నా యజ మానుని సేవకులలో అత్యల్పుడైన అధిపతియగు ఒకనిని నీవేలాగు ఎదిరింతువు? రథములను రౌతులను పంపునని ఐగుప్తురాజును నీవు ఆశ్రయించుకొంటివే.

24. How can you fight back one captain among the least of my ruler's servants, when you trust Egypt for war-wagons and horsemen?

25. యెహోవా సెలవు నొందకయే ఈ దేశమును పాడుచేయుటకు నేను వచ్చితినా? లేదు; ఆ దేశముమీదికి పోయి దాని పాడు చేయుమని యెహోవా నాకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను అనెను.

25. Have I come up without the Lord against this place to destroy it? The Lord said to me, 'Go up against this land and destroy it.' ' ' '

26. హిల్కీయా కుమారుడైన ఎల్యాకీము షెబ్నాయు యోవాహు అనువారుచిత్తగించుము, నీ దాసులమైన మాకు సిరియా భాష తెలియును గనుక దానితో మాట లాడుము; ప్రాకారముమీద నున్న ప్రజల వినికిడిలో యూదుల భాషతో మాటలాడకుమని రబ్షాకేతో అనగా

26. Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebnah, and Joah, said to Rabshakeh, 'Speak to your servants in the Aramaic language, for we understand it. Do not speak with us in the language of Judah. The people on the wall might hear it.'

27. రబ్షాకే ఈ మాటలు చెప్పుటకై నా యజమానుడు నీ యజమానుని యొద్దకును నీయొద్దకును నన్ను పంపెనా? తమమలమును తినునట్లును తమ మూత్రమును త్రాగునట్లును మీతోకూడ ప్రాకారముమీద కూర్చున్నవారియొద్దకును నన్ను పంపెనుగదా అని చెప్పి

27. But Rabshakeh said to them, 'Has my ruler sent me to speak these words to your ruler and to you, and not to the men sitting on the wall? They are sure to suffer with you, eating and drinking their own body waste.'

28. గొప్పశబ్దముతో యూదాభాషతో ఇట్లనెనుమహారాజైన అష్షూరురాజు సెలవిచ్చిన మాటలు వినుడి. రాజు సెలవిచ్చినదేమనగా

28. Then Rabshakeh stood and called out with a loud voice in the language of Judah, saying, 'Hear the word of the great king of Assyria.

29. హిజ్కియాచేత మోసపోకుడి; నా చేతిలోనుండి మిమ్మును విడిపింప శక్తి వానికి చాలదు.

29. The king says, 'Do not let Hezekiah lie to you. For he will not be able to save you from my power.

30. యెహోవాను బట్టి మిమ్మును నమ్మించియెహోవా మనలను విడిపించును, ఈ పట్టణము అష్షూరురాజు చేతిలో చిక్కకపోవునని హిజ్కియా చెప్పుచున్నాడే.

30. Do not let Hezekiah make you trust in the Lord, saying, 'The Lord will save us for sure. And this city will not be given to the king of Assyria.'

31. హిజ్కియా చెప్పిన మాట మీరంగీకరింపవద్దు; అష్షూరురాజు సెలవిచ్చినదేమ నగానాతో సంధిచేసికొని నాయొద్దకు మీరు బయటికి వచ్చినయెడల మీలో ప్రతిమనిషి తన ద్రాక్షచెట్టుఫలమును తన అంజూరపుచెట్టు ఫలమును తినుచు తన బావి నీళ్లు త్రాగుచు ఉండును.

31. Do not listen to Hezekiah. For the king of Assyria says, 'Make your peace with me and come out to me. Then every one of you will eat of his own vine and fig tree. And every one of you will drink the water of his own well.

32. అటుపిమ్మట మీరుచావక బ్రదుకునట్లుగా మేము వచ్చి మీ దేశమువంటి దేశమునకు, అనగా గోధుమలును ద్రాక్షారసమును గల దేశమునకును, ఆహారమును ద్రాక్షచెట్లును గల దేశమున కును, ఒలీవతైలమును తేనెయునుగల దేశమునకును మిమ్మును తీసికొని పోవుదును, అచ్చట మీరు సుఖముగా నుందురు. కావునయెహోవా మిమ్మును విడిపించునని చెప్పి హిజ్కియా మీకు బోధించు మాటలను వినవద్దు.

32. Then I will come and take you away to a land like your own land. It is a land of grain and new wine. It is a land of bread and grape-fields and olive trees and honey. There you will live and not die.' But do not listen to Hezekiah when he lies to you, saying, 'The Lord will save us.'

33. ఆయా జనముల దేవతలలో ఏదైనను తన దేశమును అష్షూరురాజు చేతిలోనుండి విడిపించెనా?

33. Has any one of the gods of the nations saved his land from the power of the king of Assyria?

34. హమాతు దేవతలు ఏమా యెను? అర్పాదు దేవతలు ఏమాయెను? సెపర్వయీము దేవతలు ఏమాయెను? హేన ఇవ్వా అనువారి దేవతలు ఏమాయెను? (షోమ్రోను దేశపు) దేవత మా చేతిలోనుండి షోమ్రోనును విడిపించెనా?

34. Where are the gods of Hamath and Arpad? Where are the gods of Sepharvaim, Hena and Ivvah? Have they saved Samaria from my power?

35. యెహోవా మా చేతిలోనుండి యెరూషలేమును విడిపించుననుటకు ఆయా దేశముల దేవతలలో ఏదైనను తన దేశమును మా చేతిలోనుండి విడిపించినది కలదా అని చెప్పెను.

35. Who among all the gods of the lands have saved their land from my power? So how should the Lord save Jerusalem from my power?' ''

36. అయితే అతనికి ప్రత్యుత్తరమియ్యవద్దని రాజు సెలవిచ్చి యుండుటచేత జనులు ఎంతమాత్రమును ప్రత్యుత్తరమియ్యక ఊరకుండిరి.

36. But the people were quiet. They did not answer him a word. For Hezekiah had told them, 'Do not answer him.'

37. గృహ నిర్వాహకుడును హిల్కీయా కుమారుడు నైన ఎల్యాకీ మును, శాస్త్రియగు షెబ్నాయును, రాజ్యపు దస్తావేజులమీదనున్న ఆసాపు కుమారుడైన యోవాహును, బట్టలు చింపుకొని హిజ్కియాయొద్దకు వచ్చి, రబ్షాకే పలికిన మాటలన్నియు తెలియజెప్పిరి.

37. Then Eliakim the son of Hilkiah who was the head of the house, and Shebna the writer, and Joah the son of Asaph who wrote down the things of the nation, came to Hezekiah. They came with their clothes torn and told him the words of Rabshakeh.
