1. When Athaliah, Ahaziah's mother, saw that her son was dead, she proceeded to annihilate all the royal heirs.

2. రాజైన యెహోరాము కుమార్తెయును అహ జ్యాకు సహోదరియునైన యెహోషెబ అహజ్యా కుమారు డైన యోవాషును, హతమైన రాజకుమారులతోకూడ చంపబడకుండ అతని రహస్యముగా తప్పించెను గనుక వారు అతనిని అతని దాదిని పడకగదిలో అతల్యాకు మరుగుగా ఉంచియుండుటచేత అతడు చంపబడ కుండెను.

2. Jehosheba, [who was] King Jehoram's daughter and Ahaziah's sister, secretly rescued Joash son of Ahaziah from the king's sons who were being killed and [put] him and his nurse in a bedroom. So he was hidden from Athaliah and was not killed.

3. అతల్యా దేశమును ఏలుచుండగా ఇతడు ఆరు సంవత్సరములు యెహోవా మందిరమందు దాదితో కూడ దాచబడి యుండెను.

3. Joash was in hiding with Jehosheba in the LORD's temple six years while Athaliah ruled over the land.

4. ఏడవ సంవత్సరమందు యెహోయాదా కావలికాయు వారిమీదను రాజదేహ సంరక్షకులమీదను ఏర్పడియున్న శతాధిపతులను పిలువనంపించి, యెహోవా మందిరము లోనికి వారిని తీసికొని పోయి, యెహోవా మందిరమందు వారిచేత ప్రమాణము చేయించి వారితో నిబంధనచేసి, వారికి ఆ రాజు కుమారుని కనుపరచి యీలాగు ఆజ్ఞాపించెను

4. Then, in the seventh year, Jehoiada sent [messengers] and brought in the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, and the guards. He had them come to him in the LORD's temple, where he made a covenant with them and put them under oath. He showed them the king's son

5. మీరు చేయవలసినదేమనగా, విశ్రాంతి దిన మున లోపల ప్రవేశించు మీరు మూడు భాగములై యొక భాగము రాజమందిరమునకు కావలి కాయువారై యుండవలెను;

5. and commanded them, "This is what you are to do: one third of you who come on duty on the Sabbath are to provide protection for the king's palace.

6. ఒక భాగము సూరు గుమ్మముదగ్గర కాపు చేయవలెను, ఒక భాగము కాపు కాయువారి వెనుకటి గుమ్మమునొద్ద ఉండవలెను, ఈ ప్రకారము మందిరమును భద్రపరచుటకై మీరు దానిని కాచుకొని యుండవలెను.

6. A third are to be at the Sur gate and a third at the gate behind the guards. You are to take turns providing protection for the palace.

7. మరియు విశ్రాంతి దినమున బయలుదేరు మీయందరిలో రెండు భాగములు రాజు దగ్గర యెహోవా మందిరమునకు కాపు కాయువారై యుండవలెను.

7. Your two divisions that go off duty on the Sabbath are to provide protection for the LORD's temple.

8. మీలో ప్రతి మనిషి తన తన ఆయుధములను చేత పట్టుకొని రాజుచుట్టు కాచుకొని యుండవలెను, ఎవడైనను పంక్తులలో ప్రవే శించినయెడల వాని చంపవలెను, రాజు బయలుదేరి సంచ రించునప్పుడెల్ల మీరు అతనియొద్ద ఉండవలెను.

8. You must completely surround the king with weapons in hand. Anyone who approaches the ranks is to be put to death. You must be with the king in all his daily tasks."

9. శతాధి పతులు యాజకుడైన యెహోయాదా తమ కిచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞ లన్నిటి ప్రకారము చేసిరి, ప్రతి మనిషి తన తన మనుష్యులను తీసికొని విశ్రాంతిదినమున లోపల ప్రవేశింపవలసిన వారితోను, విశ్రాంతిదినమున బయలుదేరవలసిన వారితోను కలిసి యాజకుడైన యెహోయాదా యొద్దకు వచ్చెను.

9. So the commanders of hundreds did everything Jehoiada the priest commanded. They each brought their men-- those coming on duty on the Sabbath and those going off duty-- and went to Jehoiada the priest.

10. యాజకుడు మందిరములో ఉన్న దావీదు ఈటెలను డాళ్లను శతాధిపతులకు అప్పగింపగా

10. The priest gave to the commanders of hundreds King David's spears and shields that were in the LORD's temple.

11. కాపు కాయు వారిలో ప్రతి మనిషి తన తన ఆయుధములను చేత పట్టుకొని బలిపీఠముచెంతను మందిరముచెంతను మందిరము కుడి కొన మొదలుకొని యెడమ కొనవరకు రాజుచుట్టు నిలిచిరి.

11. Then the guards stood with their weapons in hand surrounding the king-- from the right side of the temple to the left side, by the altar and by the temple.

12. అప్పుడు యాజకుడు రాజకుమారుని బయటకు తోడుకొనిపోయి అతని తలమీద కిరీటము పెట్టి, ధర్మ శాస్త్రగ్రంథమును అతని చేతికిచ్చిన తరువాత వారు అతని పట్టాభిషిక్తునిగా చేసి చప్పట్లుకొట్టిరాజు చిరంజీవియగునుగాకని చాటించిరి.

12. He brought out the king's son, put the crown on him, gave him the testimony,and made him king. They anointed him and clapped their hands and cried, "Long live the king!"

13. అతల్యా, కాయువారును జనులును కేకలువేయగా విని, యెహోవా మందిరమందున్న జనుల దగ్గరకు వచ్చి

13. When Athaliah heard the noise from the guard [and] the crowd, she went out to the people at the LORD's temple.

14. రాజు ఎప్పటి మర్యాద చొప్పున ఒక స్తంభముదగ్గర నిలుచుటయు, అధిపతులును బాకా ఊదువారును రాజునొద్ద నిలువబడుటయు, దేశపు వారందరును సంతోషించుచు శృంగధ్వనిచేయుటయు చూచి తన వస్త్రములను చింపుకొనిద్రోహము ద్రోహము అని కేక వేయగా

14. As she looked, there was the king standing by the pillar according to the custom. The commanders and the trumpeters were by the king, and all the people of the land were rejoicing and blowing trumpets. Athaliah tore her clothes and screamed "Treason! Treason!"

15. యాజకుడైన యెహో యాదా సైన్యములోని శతాధిపతులకు యెహోవా మందిరమందు ఆమెను చంపకూడదు, పంక్తుల బయటికి ఆమెను వెళ్లగొట్టుడి; ఆమె పక్షపువారిని ఖడ్గముచేత చంపుడని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను గనుక

15. Then Jehoiada the priest ordered the commanders of hundreds in charge of the army, "Take her out between the ranks, and put anyone who follows her to death by the sword," for the priest had said, "She is not to be put to death in the LORD's temple."

16. రాజమందిరములోనికి గుఱ్ఱములు వచ్చు మార్గమున ఆమెకు దారి ఇచ్చిరి. ఆమె వెళ్లిపోగా వారు ఆమెను అక్కడ పట్టుకొని చంపిరి.

16. So they arrested her, and she went out by way of the Horses' Entrance to the king's palace, where she was put to death.

17. అప్పుడు యెహోయాదాజనులు యెహోవా వారని ఆయన పేరట రాజుతోను జనులతోను నిబంధన చేయించెను, మరియు అతడు రాజుపేరట జనులతో నిబంధన చేయించెను.

17. Then Jehoiada made a covenant between the LORD, the king, and the people that they would be the LORD's people and [another one] between the king and the people.

18. అప్పుడు దేశపు జనులందరును బయలు గుడికి పోయి దానిని పడగొట్టి దాని బలిపీఠములను ప్రతి మలను ఛిన్నాభిన్నములుచేసి, బయలునకు యాజకుడైన మత్తానును బలిపీఠముల ముందర చంపివేసిరి. మరియు యాజకుడైన యెహోయాదా యెహోవా మందిరమును కాచుకొనుటకు మనుష్యులను నియమించెను.

18. So all the people of the land went to the temple of Baal and tore it down. They broke its altars and images into pieces, and they killed Mattan, the priest of Baal, at the altars. Then [Jehoiada] the priest appointed guards for the LORD's temple.

19. అతడు శతాధిపతులను అధికారులను కాపుకాయువారిని దేశపు జనులందరిని పిలిపింపగా వారు యెహోవా మందిరములో నున్న రాజునుతీసికొని, కాపుకాయువారి గుమ్మపు మార్గ మున రాజనగరునకు రాగా రాజు సింహాసనముమీద ఆసీనుడాయెను.

19. He took [with him] the commanders of hundreds, the Carites, the guards, and all the people of the land, and they brought the king from the LORD's temple. They entered the king's palace by way of the guards' gate. Then Joash sat on the throne of the kings.

20. మరియు వారు రాజనగరు దగ్గర అతల్యాను ఖడ్గముచేత చంపిన తరువాత దేశపు జనులంద రును సంతోషించిరి, పట్టణమును నిమ్మళముగా ఉండెను.

20. All the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet, for they had put Athaliah to death by the sword in the king's palace.

21. Joash was seven years old when he became king.
