1. సిరియనులును ఇశ్రాయేలువారును మూడు సంవత్సర ములు ఒకరితో ఒకరు యుద్ధము జరిగింపక మానిరి.

1. Now three years passed without war between Syria and Israel.

2. మూడవ సంవత్సరమందు యూదారాజైన యెహోషాపాతు బయలుదేరి ఇశ్రాయేలురాజునొద్దకు రాగా

2. And it came to pass, in the third year, that Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went down to visit the king of Israel.

3. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు తన సేవకులను పిలిపించిరామోత్గిలాదు మనదని మీరెరుగుదురు; అయితే మనము సిరియా రాజు చేతిలోనుండి దాని తీసికొనక ఊరకున్నామని చెప్పి

3. And the king of Israel said to his servants, Have you known that Ramoth in Gilead is ours, but we are being inactive to take it out of the hand of the king of Syria?

4. యుద్ధము చేయుటకు నాతోకూడ నీవు రామోత్గిలాదునకు వచ్చెదవా అని యెహోషాపాతును అడిగెను. అందుకు యెహోషాపాతునేను నీవాడనే; నా జనులు నీ జనులే నా గుఱ్ఱములును నీ గుఱ్ఱములే అని ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుతో చెప్పెను.

4. And he said to Jehoshaphat, Will you go with me to fight at Ramoth Gilead? And Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, I am as you are, my people as your people, my horses as your horses.

5. పిమ్మట యెహోషాపాతునేడు యెహోవా యొద్ద విచారణచేయుదము రండని ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుతో అనగా

5. Also Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, Please inquire at the Word of Jehovah today.

6. ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు దాదాపు నాలుగు వందలమంది ప్రవక్తలను పిలిపించియుద్ధము చేయుటకు రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి పోదునా పోకుందునా అని వారి నడిగెను. అందుకుయెహోవా దానిని రాజైన నీ చేతికి అప్పగించును గనుక

6. So the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, about four hundred men, and said to them, Shall I go against Ramoth Gilead to fight, or shall I refrain? And they said, Go up, for the Lord will deliver it into the hand of the king.

7. పొండని వారు చెప్పిరి గాని యెహోషాపాతువిచారణ చేయుటకై వీరు తప్పయెహోవా ప్రవక్తలలో ఒకడైనను ఇక్కడ లేడా అని అడిగెను.

7. And Jehoshaphat said, Is there not still a prophet of Jehovah here, that we may inquire of Him?

8. అందుకు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుఇవ్లూ కుమారుడైన మీకాయా అను ఒకడున్నాడు; అతనిద్వారా మనము యెహోవాయొద్ద విచారణ చేయవచ్చును గాని, అతడు నన్నుగూర్చి మేలు ప్రకటింపక కీడే ప్రకటించును గనుక అతనియందు నాకు ద్వేషము కలదని యెహోషాపాతుతో అనగా యెహోషాపాతురాజైన మీరు ఆలా గనవద్దనెను.

8. And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, There is yet one man, Micaiah the son of Imlah, by whom we may inquire of Jehovah; but I hate him, because he does not prophesy good concerning me, but evil. And Jehoshaphat said, Let not the king say so!

9. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు తన పరివారములో ఒకనిని పిలిచిఇవ్లూ కుమారుడైన మీకాయాను శీఘ్రముగా ఇక్కడికి రప్పించుమని సెలవిచ్చెను.

9. Then the king of Israel summoned a certain official and said, Bring Micaiah the son of Imlah quickly!

10. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజును యూదారాజగు యెహోషాపాతును రాజవస్త్రములు ధరించుకొని, షోమ్రోను గవిని దగ్గరనున్న విశాల స్థలమందు గద్దెలమీద ఆసీనులై యుండి, ప్రవక్తలందరును వారి సమక్షమందు ప్రకటన చేయుచుండగా

10. And the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah, having put on their robes, sat each on his throne, at a vacant spot at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.

11. కెనయనా కుమారుడైన సిద్కియా యినుప కొమ్ములు చేయించుకొని వచ్చివీటిచేత నీవు సిరియనులను పొడిచి నాశనము చేతువని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చు చున్నాడని చెప్పెను.

11. And Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made horns of iron for himself; and he said, Thus says Jehovah: With these you shall thrust at the Syrians to destroy them.

12. ప్రవక్తలందరును ఆ చొప్పుననే ప్రకటన చేయుచుయెహోవా రామోత్గిలాదును రాజవైన నీ చేతికి అప్పగించును గనుక నీవు దానిమీదికి పోయి జయమొందుదువు అని చెప్పిరి.

12. And all the prophets prophesied so, saying, Go up to Ramoth Gilead and prosper, for Jehovah will deliver it into the king's hand.

13. మీకాయాను పిలువబోయిన దూత ప్రవక్తలు ఏకముగా రాజుతో మంచి మాటలు పలుకుచున్నారు గనుక నీ మాట వారి మాటకు అనుకూలపరచుమని అతనితో అనగా

13. And the messenger who had gone to summon Micaiah spoke to him, saying, Behold now, the words of the prophets with one mouth are agreeable to the king. Please, let your word be like the word of one of them, and speak pleasant things.

14. మీకాయాయెహోవా నాకు సెల విచ్చునదేదో ఆయన జీవముతోడు నేను దానినే పలు కుదుననెను.

14. And Micaiah said, As Jehovah lives, whatever Jehovah says to me, that I will speak.

15. అతడు రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చినప్పుడు రాజుమీకాయా, నీవేమందువు? యుద్ధము చేయుటకు మేము రామోత్గిలాదు మీదికి పోదుమా పోకుందుమా అని యడుగగా అతడుయెహోవా దానిని రాజవైన నీ చేతికి నప్ప గించును గనుక నీవు దానిమీదికిపోయి జయమొందుదువని రాజుతో అనెను.

15. So he came to the king; and the king said to him, Micaiah, shall we go to war against Ramoth Gilead, or shall we refrain? And he answered him, Go and prosper, for Jehovah will deliver it into the hand of the king!

16. అందుకు రాజునీచేత ప్రమాణము చేయించి యెహోవా నామమునుబట్టి నిజమైన మాటలే నీవు నాతో పలుకవలసినదని నేనెన్ని మారులు నీతో చెప్పితిని అని రాజు సెలవియ్యగా

16. And the king said to him, How many times shall I adjure you to speak to me nothing but the truth in the name of Jehovah?

17. అతడుఇశ్రాయేలీయు లందరును కాపరిలేని గొఱ్ఱెలవలెనే కొండలమీద చెదరి యుండుట నేను చూచితిని వారికి యజమానుడు లేడు; ఎవరి యింటికి వారు సమాధానముగా వెళ్లవలసినదని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చెను అని చెప్పెను.

17. Then he said, I have seen all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep having no shepherd. And Jehovah said, These have no master. Let each return to his house in peace.

18. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రా యేలురాజు యెహోషాపాతును చూచిఇతడు నన్ను గూర్చి మేలుపలుకక కీడే ప్రవచించునని నేను నీతో చెప్పలేదా అనగా

18. And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, Did I not tell you he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?

19. మీకాయా యిట్లనెనుయెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన మాట ఆలకించుము; యెహోవా సింహాసనాసీనుడై యుండగా పరలోకసైన్యమంతయు ఆయన కుడి పార్శ్వమునను ఎడమపార్శ్వమునను నిలిచి యుండుట నేను చూచితిని

19. And Micaiah said, Therefore hear the Word of Jehovah: I saw Jehovah sitting on His throne, and all the host of Heaven standing by, on His right hand and on His left.

20. అహాబు రామోత్గిలాదుమీదికి పోయి అక్కడ ఓడిపోవునట్లుగా ఎవడు అతనిని ప్రేరేపించునని యెహోవా సెలవియ్యగా, ఒకడు ఈ విధముగాను మరియొకడు ఆ విధముగాను యోచన చెప్పుచుండిరి.

20. And Jehovah said, Who will persuade Ahab to go up, that he may fall at Ramoth Gilead? So one said this, and another was saying that.

21. అంతలో ఒక ఆత్మ యెదుటికి వచ్చి యెహోవా సన్నిధిని నిలువబడినేను అతనిని ప్రేరేపించెదననగా యెహోవాఏ ప్రకారము నీవతని ప్రేరేపించుదువని అతని నడిగెను.

21. Then a spirit came forward and stood before Jehovah, and said, I will entice him.

22. అందుకతడునేను బయలుదేరి అతని ప్రవక్తల నోట అబద్ధమాడు ఆత్మగా ఉందునని చెప్పగా ఆయననీవు అతని ప్రేరేపించి జయము నొందుదువు; పోయి ఆ ప్రకారము చేయుమని అతనికి సెలవిచ్చెను.

22. And Jehovah said to him, In what way? And he said, I will go out and be a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all his prophets. And Jehovah said, You shall entice him, and also prevail. Go out and do so.

23. యెహోవా నిన్నుగూర్చి కీడు యోచించి నీ ప్రవక్తల నోట అబద్ధమాడు ఆత్మను ఉంచియున్నాడు.

23. Therefore now behold, Jehovah has put a spirit of falsehood in the mouth of all these prophets of yours, and Jehovah has spoken calamity against you.

24. మీకాయా యిట్లనగా, కెనయనా కుమారుడైన సిద్కియా అతని దగ్గరకు వచ్చినీతో మాటలాడుటకు యెహోవా ఆత్మ నాయొద్దనుండి ఏవైపుగా పోయెనని చెప్పి మీకాయాను చెంపమీద కొట్టెను.

24. Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah went near and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, Which way did the spirit from Jehovah go from me to speak to you?

25. అందుకు మీకాయా దాగుకొనుటకై నీవు ఆ యా గదులలోనికి చొరబడు నాడు అది నీకు తెలియ వచ్చునని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

25. And Micaiah said, Behold, you shall see on that day when you go into an inner chamber to hide!

26. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుమీకాయాను పట్టుకొని తీసికొని పోయి పట్టణపు అధికారియైన ఆమోనునకును రాజకుమారుడైన యోవాషు నకును అప్పగించి

26. So the king of Israel said, Take Micaiah, and return him to Amon the ruler of the city and to Joash the king's son;

27. బందీగృహములో ఉంచి, మేము క్షేమముగా తిరిగివచ్చువరకు అతనికి కష్టమైన అన్నము నీళ్లు ఈయుడని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

27. and say, Thus says the king: Put this fellow in prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and water of affliction, until I come in peace.

28. అప్పుడు మీకాయా ఈలాగు చెప్పెను సకలజనులారా, నా మాట ఆలకించు డని చెప్పెనురాజవైన నీవు ఏమాత్రమైనను క్షేమముగా తిరిగి వచ్చినయెడల యెహోవా నాచేత పలుకలేదు.

28. And Micaiah said, If you return to come back in peace, Jehovah has not spoken by me. And he said, All you people, pay attention!

29. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజును యూదారాజగు యెహోషా పాతును రామోత్గిలాదు మీదికి పోవుచుండగా

29. So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.

30. ఇశ్రా యేలురాజునేను మారువేషము వేసికొని యుద్ధములో ప్రవేశించెదను, నీవైతే నీ వస్త్రములు ధరించుకొని ప్రవే శించుమని యెహోషాపాతుతో చెప్పి మారువేషము వేసికొని యుద్ధమందు ప్రవేశించెను.

30. And the king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, I will disguise myself and go into battle; but you put on your robes. So the king of Israel disguised himself and went into the battle.

31. సరియారాజు తన రథ ములమీద అధికారులైన ముప్పది ఇద్దరు అధిపతులను పిలి పించి అల్పులతోనైనను ఘనులతోనైనను మీరు పోట్లాడవద్దు; ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుతో మాత్రమే పోట్లాడుడని ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చియుండగా

31. Now the king of Syria had commanded the thirty-two commanders of his chariots, saying, Fight with no one small or great, but only with the king of Israel.

32. రథాధిపతులు యెహోషాపాతును చూచియితడే ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజనుకొని అతనితో పోట్లాడుటకు అతని మీదికి వచ్చిరి. యెహోషాపాతు కేకలువేయగా

32. And so it was, when the commanders of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, that they said, Surely it is the king of Israel! Therefore they turned aside to fight against him, and Jehoshaphat cried out.

33. రథాధిపతులు అతడు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజు కానట్టు గురుతుపట్టి అతని తరుముట మానివేసిరి.

33. And it happened, when the commanders of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, that they turned back from pursuing him.

34. పమ్మట ఒకడు తన విల్లు తీసి గురి చూడకయే విడువగా అది ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుకు కవచపుకీలు మధ్యను తగిలెను గనుక అతడునాకు గాయమైనది, రథము త్రిప్పి సైన్యములో నుండి నన్ను అవతలకు తీసికొని పొమ్మని తన సారధితో చెప్పెను.

34. Now a certain man drew a bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of his armor. So he said to the driver of his chariot, Turn your hand and take me out of the battle, for I am wounded.

35. నాడు యుద్ధము బలముగా జరుగుచున్నప్పుడు రాజును సిరియనుల యెదుట అతని రథముమీద నిలువ బెట్టిరి; అస్తమయమందు అతడు మరణమాయెను; తగిలిన గాయములోనుండి అతని రక్తము కారి రథములో మడుగు గట్టెను.

35. And the battle increased that day; and the king was propped up in his chariot, facing the Syrians, and died at evening. And the blood ran out from the wound onto the floor of the chariot.

36. సూర్యాస్తమయ సమయమందు దండువారందరు తమ తమ పట్టణములకును దేశములకును వెళ్లి పోవచ్చు నని ప్రచురమాయెను.

36. And as the sun was going down, a shout went throughout the camp, saying, Every man to his city, and every man to his own land!

37. ఈ ప్రకారము రాజు మరణమై షోమ్రోనునకు కొనిపోబడి షోమ్రోనులో పాతిపెట్టబడెను.

37. So the king died, and was brought to Samaria. And they buried the king in Samaria.

38. వేశ్యలు స్నానము చేయుచుండగా ఒకడు ఆ రథమును షోమ్రోను కొలనులో కడిగినప్పుడు యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చిన మాటచొప్పున కుక్కలు వచ్చి అతని రక్తమును నాకెను.

38. And someone washed the chariot at a pool in Samaria, and the dogs licked up his blood; and they washed his armor; according to the Word of Jehovah which He had spoken.

39. అహాబు చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చియు, అతడు చేసిన దానంతటినిగూర్చియు, అతడు కట్టించిన దంతపు ఇంటినిగూర్చియు, అతడు కట్టించిన పట్టణములను గూర్చియు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథ మందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

39. Now the rest of the acts of Ahab, and all that he did, the ivory house which he built and all the cities that he built, are they not written in the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Israel.

40. అహాబు తన పితరులతో కూడ నిద్రించగా అతని కుమారుడైన అహజ్యా అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

40. So Ahab rested with his fathers. And Ahaziah his son reigned in his place.

41. ఆసా కుమారుడైన యెహోషాపాతు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన అహాబు ఏలుబడిలో నాలుగవ సంవత్సరమందు యూదాను ఏలనారంభించెను.

41. Jehoshaphat the son of Asa had become king over Judah in the fourth year of Ahab king of Israel.

42. యెహోషాపాతు ఏల నారంభించినప్పుడు అతడు ముప్పది యయిదేండ్లవాడై యెరూషలేములో యిరువది యైదేండ్లు ఏలెను; అతని తల్లి పేరు అజూబా, ఆమె షిల్హీకుమార్తెయై యుండెను.

42. Jehoshaphat was thirty-five years old when he became king, and he reigned twenty- five years in Jerusalem. His mother's name was Azubah the daughter of Shilhi.

43. అతడు తన తండ్రియైన ఆసాయొక్క మార్గములన్నిటి ననుసరించి, యెహోవా దృష్టికి అనుకూలముగా ప్రవర్తించుచు వచ్చెను. అయితే ఉన్నత స్థలములను తీసివేయలేదు; ఉన్నత స్థలములలో జనులు ఇంకను బలులు అర్పిం చుచు ధూపము వేయుచు నుండిరి.

43. And he walked in all the ways of his father Asa. He did not turn aside from them, doing what was right in the eyes of Jehovah. Nevertheless the high places were not taken away, for the people offered sacrifices and burned incense on the high places.

44. యెహోషాపాతు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజుతో సంధిచేసెను.

44. Also Jehoshaphat made peace with the king of Israel.

45. యెహోషాపాతు చేసిన యితర కార్యములనుగూర్చియు, అతడు కనుపరచిన బలమునుగూర్చియు, అతడు యుద్థముచేసిన విధమును గూర్చియు యూదారాజుల వృత్తాంతముల గ్రంథమందు వ్రాయబడియున్నది.

45. Now the rest of the acts of Jehoshaphat, the might that he showed, and how he made war, are they not written in the book of the Chronicles of the kings of Judah.

46. తన తండ్రియైన ఆసాదినములలో శేషించియుండిన పురుషగాములను అతడు దేశములోనుండి వెళ్లగొట్టెను.

46. And the rest of the male temple prostitutes, who had remained in the days of his father Asa, he removed out of the land.

47. ఆ కాలమందు ఎదోము దేశమునకు రాజు లేకపోయెను; ప్రధానియైన యొకడు రాజ్యపాలనము చేయుచుండెను.

47. There was then no king in Edom, only a deputy of the king.

48. యెహోషాపాతు బంగారము తెచ్చుటకై ఓఫీరుదేశమునకు పోవుటకు తర్షీషు ఓడలను కట్టింపగా ఆ ఓడలు బయలుదేరక ఎసోన్గెబెరునొద్ద బద్దలై పోయెను.

48. Jehoshaphat had made merchant ships to go to Ophir for gold; but they did not go, for the ships were wrecked at Ezion Geber.

49. అహాబు కుమారుడైన అహజ్యానా సేవకులను నీ సేవకులతో కూడ ఓడలమీద పోనిమ్మని యెహోషా పాతు నడుగగా యెహోషాపాతు దానికి ఒప్పలేదు.

49. Then Ahaziah the son of Ahab said to Jehoshaphat, Let my servants go with your servants in the ships. But Jehoshaphat would not.

50. పమ్మట యెహోషా పాతు తన పితరులతోకూడ నిద్రించి, తన పితరుడైన దావీదుపురమందు తన పితరులతోకూడ పాతిపెట్ట బడెను; అతని కుమారుడైన యెహోరాము అతనికి మారుగా రాజాయెను.

50. And Jehoshaphat rested with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the City of David his father. And Jehoram his son reigned in his place.

51. అహాబు కుమారుడైన అహజ్యా యూదారాజైన యెహోషాపాతు ఏలుబడిలో పదునేడవ సంవత్సరమందు షోమ్రోనులో ఇశ్రాయేలును ఏలనారంభించి రెండు సంవ త్సరములు ఇశ్రాయేలును ఏలెను.

51. Ahaziah the son of Ahab became king over Israel in Samaria in the seventeenth year of Jehoshaphat king of Judah, and reigned two years over Israel.

52. అతడు యెహోవా దృష్టికి చెడుతనము జరిగించి,తన తలిదండ్రు లిద్దరి ప్రవర్త నను, ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పాపము చేయుటకు కారకుడైన నెబాతు కుమారుడగు యరొబాము ప్రవర్తనను అనుసరించి ప్రవర్తించుచు వచ్చెను.

52. And he did evil in the eyes of Jehovah, and walked in the ways of his father and in the ways of his mother and in the ways of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, who had made Israel sin;

53. అతడు బయలు దేవతను పూజిం చుచు, వానికి నమస్కారము చేయుచు, తన తండ్రి చేసిన క్రియలన్నిటి చొప్పున జరిగించుచు, ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల దేవుడైన యెహోవాకు కోపము పుట్టించెను.

53. for he served Baal and bowed down to him, and provoked Jehovah the God of Israel to anger, according to all that his father had done.
