1. ఈ సంగతులైన తరువాత యెజ్రెయేలులో షోమ్రోను రాజైన అహాబు నగరును ఆనుకొని యెజ్రెయేలువాడైన నాబోతునకు ఒక ద్రాక్షతోట కలిగియుండగా

1. After these things were done, it chanced that Naboth the Jezrahelite had a vineyard in Jezrahel hard by the palace of Ahab king of Samaria.

2. అహాబు నాబోతును పిలిపించినీ ద్రాక్ష తోట నా నగరును ఆనుకొని యున్నది గనుక అది నాకు కూరతోటకిమ్ము దానికి ప్రతిగా దానికంటె మంచి ద్రాక్షతోట నీకిచ్చెదను, లేదా నీకు అనుకూలమైన యెడల దానిని క్రయమునకిమ్మని అడిగెను.

2. And Ahab spake unto Naboth saying: let me have thy vineyard, to make me a garden of herbs thereof, because it lieth so nigh my house: and I will give thee a better vineyard for it: or if it please thee I will give thee, the worth of it in silver.

3. అందుకు నాబోతు - నా పిత్రార్జితమును నీ కిచ్చుటకు నాకు ఎంతమాత్రమును వల్లపడదని చెప్పగా

3. But Naboth said to Ahab: the LORD forbid that from me, that I should give the inheritance of my fathers unto thee.

4. నా - పిత్రార్జితమును నీ కియ్యనని యెజ్రెయేలీయుడైన నాబోతు తనతో చెప్పిన దానిని బట్టి అహాబు మూతి ముడుచుకొనినవాడై కోపముతో తన నగరునకు పోయి మంచముమీద పరుండి యెవరితోను మాటలాడకయు భోజనము చేయకయు ఉండెను.

4. Then went Ahab unto his house wayward and evil apaid, because of the words which Naboth the Jezrahelite had spoken unto him saying: I will not give to thee, the inheritance of my fathers. And he laid him down upon his bed and turned away his face, and would eat no meat.

5. అంతట అతని భార్యయైన యెజెబెలు వచ్చినీవు మూతి ముడుచుకొనినవాడవై భోజనము చేయక యుండెదవేమని అతని నడుగగా

5. And when Jezabel his wife came to him, and said unto him: why art thou so froward, that thou eatest no meat?

6. అతడు ఆమెతో ఇట్లనెనునీ ద్రాక్షతోటను క్రయమునకు నాకిమ్ము; లేక నీకు అనుకూలమైనయెడల దానికి మారుగా మరియొక ద్రాక్షతోట నీ కిచ్చెదనని, యెజ్రె యేలీయుడైన నాబోతుతో నేను చెప్పగా అతడునా ద్రాక్షతోట నీ కియ్యననెను.

6. And he said unto her, I spake unto Naboth the Jazrahelite, and said unto him: give me thy vineyard for silver, or else if thou wilt, I will give thee another vineyard for it. And he said: I will not give thee my vineyard.

7. అందు కతని భార్యయైన యెజెబెలుఇశ్రాయేలులో నీవిప్పుడు రాజ్యపరిపాలనము చేయుటలేదా? లేచి భోజనము చేసి మనస్సులో సంతోషముగా ఉండుము; నేనే యెజ్రెయేలీయుడైన నాబోతు ద్రాక్షతోట నీకిప్పించెదనని అతనితో చెప్పి

7. Then said Jezabel his wife unto him: what a goodly kingdom were thou able to make in Israel? up and eat meat and set thine heart at rest, for I will give thee the vineyard of Naboth the Jezrahelite.

8. అహాబు పేరట తాకీదు వ్రాయించి అతని ముద్రతో ముద్రించి, ఆ తాకీదును నాబోతు నివాసము చేయుచున్న పట్టణపు పెద్దలకును సామంతులకును పంపెను.

8. And she wrote a letter in Ahab's name and sealed it with his seal, and sent it unto the elders and chief men of his city that dwelt where Naboth dwelt.

9. ఆ తాకీదులో వ్రాయించిన దేమనగాఉపవాసదినము జరుగవలెనని మీరు చాటించి నాబోతును జనులయెదుట నిలువబెట్టి

9. And she wrote in the letter saying: proclaim fasting and set Naboth on high among the people,

10. నీవు దేవునిని రాజును దూషించితివని అతనిమీద సాక్ష్యము పలుకుటకు పనికిమాలిన యిద్దరు మనుష్యులను సిద్ధపరచుడి; తీర్పు అయినమీదట అతని బయటికి తీసికొని పోయి రాళ్లతో చావగొట్టుడి.

10. and set two unthriftes before him, and let them testify against him saying: thou didst curse both God and the king. And upon that carry him out and stone him to death.

11. అతని పట్టణపు పెద్దలును పట్టణమందు నివసించు సామంతులును యెజెబెలు తమకు పంపిన తాకీదు ప్రకారముగా జరిగించిరి.

11. And the elders and nobles of his city, which dwelt in his city, did as Jezabel had sent unto them, and as it was written in the letter which she had sent unto them.

12. ఎట్లనగా వారు ఉపవాసదినము చాటించి నాబోతును జనుల యెదుట నిలువబెట్టిరి.

12. They proclaimed fasting, and set Naboth on high among the people,

13. అప్పుడు పనికిమాలిన యిద్దరు మనుష్యులు సమాజములో ప్రవేశించి అతని యెదుట కూర్చుండినాబోతు దేవునిని రాజును దూషించెనని జనుల సమక్షమున నాబోతుమీద సాక్ష్యము పలుకగా వారు పట్టణము బయటికి అతనిని తీసికొని పోయి రాళ్లతో చావగొట్టిరి.

13. and there came in two unthrifty persons and sat before him. And the two unthrifty persons witnessed against Naboth before the people saying: Naboth did curse God and the king. And upon that they carried him out of the city and stoned him with stones to death.

14. నాబోతు రాతిదెబ్బలచేత మరణమాయెనని వారు యెజె బెలునకు వర్తమానము పంపగా

14. And then they sent to Jezabel saying: Naboth is stoned to death.

15. నాబోతు రాతి దెబ్బల చేత మరణమాయెనని యెజెబెలు వినినాబోతు సజీవుడు కాడు, అతడు చనిపోయెను గనుక నీవు లేచి యెజ్రె యేలీయుడైన నాబోతు క్రయమునకు నీకియ్యనొల్లక పోయిన అతని ద్రాక్షతోటను స్వాధీనపరచుకొనుమని అహాబుతో చెప్పెను.

15. And when Jezabel heard that Naboth was stoned to death: she said to Ahab: up and take possession of the vineyard of Naboth, the Jezrahelite, which he denied to give thee for silver, for Naboth is not alive, but dead.

16. నాబోతు చనిపోయెనని అహాబు విని లేచి యెజ్రెయేలీయుడైన నాబోతు ద్రాక్షతోటను స్వాధీన పరచుకొనబోయెను.

16. And when Ahab heard that Naboth was dead. He stood up to go down to the vineyard of Naboth the Jezrahelite, to take possession of it.

17. అప్పుడు యెహోవావాక్కు తిష్బీయుడైన ఏలీయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

17. And the word of the LORD came unto Eliah the Thesbite saying:

18. నీవు లేచి షోమ్రోనులోనున్న ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన అహాబును ఎదు ర్కొనుటకు బయలుదేరుము, అతడు నాబోతుయొక్క ద్రాక్షతోటలో ఉన్నాడు; అతడు దానిని స్వాధీనపరచు కొనబోయెను.

18. up and go down to meet Ahab king of Israel, which is in Samaria. Behold, he is in the vineyard of Naboth: for he is gone down thither, to take possession of it.

19. నీవు అతని చూచి యీలాగు ప్రకటిం చుముయెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగాదీని స్వాధీన పరచుకొనవలెనని నీవు నాబోతును చంపితివిగదా. యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగాఏ స్థలమందు కుక్కలు నాబోతు రక్తమును నాకెనో ఆ స్థలమందే కుక్కలు నీ రక్తమును నిజముగా నాకునని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

19. And say unto him: thus sayeth the LORD, thou hast killed and thereto gotten possession. And say moreover unto him, thus sayeth the LORD: in the place where dogs lapped the blood of Naboth, shall dogs lap even thy blood also.

20. అంతట అహాబు ఏలీయాను చూచినా పగవాడా, నీ చేతిలో నేను చిక్కుబడితినా? అని పలుకగా ఏలీయా ఇట్లనెనుయెహోవా దృష్టికి కీడు చేయుటకు నిన్ను నీవే అమ్ముకొని యున్నావు గనుక నా చేతిలో నీవు చిక్కితివి.

20. And Ahab said to Eliah: hast thou found me thine enemy at any time? And he said yea, because thou art utterly given to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD.

21. అందుకు యెహోవా ఈలాగు సెలవిచ్చెనునేను నీ మీదికి అపా యము రప్పించెదను; నీ సంతతివారిని నాశముచేతును; అల్పులేమి ఘనులేమి ఇశ్రాయేలువారిలో అహాబు పక్షమున ఎవరును లేకుండ పురుషులనందరిని నిర్మూలముచేతును.

21. Behold, I will bring evil upon thee, and will make clean riddance of thee, and will destroy unto Ahab all that pisseth against the wall, and if ought be prisoned or forsaken in Israel:

22. ఇశ్రాయేలువారు పాపము చేయుటకు నీవు కారకుడవై నాకు కోపము పుట్టించితివి గనుక నెబాతు కుమారుడైన యరొబాము కుటుంబమునకును అహీయా కుమారుడైన బయెషా కుటుంబమునకును నేను చేసినట్లు నీ కుటుంబమునకు చేయుదునని యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడు.

22. and will make thine house, like the house of Jeroboam the son of Nabat, and like the house of Baasa the son of Ahiah, for the angering wherewith thou hast angered and made Israel sin.

23. మరియు యెజెబెలునుగూర్చి యెహోవా సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగాయెజ్రెయేలు ప్రాకారమునొద్ద కుక్కలు యెజెబెలును తినివేయును.

23. And thereto against Jezabel came the word of the LORD saying: dogs shall eat Jezabel, under the walls of Jezrahel.

24. పట్టణమందు చచ్చు అహాబు సంబంధికులను కుక్కలు తినివేయును; బయటిభూములలో చచ్చువారిని ఆకాశపక్షులు తినివేయును అని చెప్పెను

24. And he that dieth of Ahab in the town, him shall dogs eat: and he that dieth in the fields, him shall the fowls of the air eat.

25. తన భార్యయైన యెజెబెలు ప్రేరేపణచేత యెహోవా దృష్టికి కీడుచేయ తన్ను తాను అమ్ముకొనిన అహాబువంటి వాడు ఎవ్వడును లేడు.

25. For there was none at all like Ahab, that was so utterly given to work wickedness in the sight of the LORD, and that because Jezabel his wife pricked him forward.

26. ఇశ్రాయేలీయుల యెదుట నిలువకుండ యెహోవా వెళ్లగొట్టిన అమోరీయుల ఆచారరీతిగా విగ్రహములను పెట్టుకొని అతడు బహు హేయముగా ప్రవర్తించెను.

26. And therefore he did exceeding abominably, in following Idols, in all things like as did the Amorites which the LORD cast out before the children of Israel.

27. అహాబు ఆ మాటలు విని తన వస్త్ర ములను చింపు కొని గోనెపట్ట కట్టుకొని ఉపవాసముండి, గోనెపట్టమీద పరుండి వ్యాకులపడుచుండగా

27. When Ahab heard those words, he rent his clothes and put sack cloth about his flesh and fasted, and lay in sack and went comfortless.

28. యెహోవా వాక్కు తిష్బీయుడైన ఏలీయాకు ప్రత్యక్షమై యీలాగు సెలవిచ్చెను

28. And the word of the LORD came to Eliah the Thesbite saying:

29. అహాబు నాకు భయపడి వినయముగా ప్రవర్తించుట చూచితివా? నాకు భయపడి అతడు వినయముగా ప్రవర్తించుటచేత ఆ అపాయము అతని కాలమునందు సంభవింపకుండ ఆపి, అతని కుమారుని కాలమునందు అతని కుటుంబికులమీదికి నేను దాని రప్పించెదను.

29. seest thou how Ahab humbleth himself before me? because he so submitteth himself before me, I will not bring that evil in his days: but in his son's days, I will bring evil upon his house.
