1. తనయొద్ద గుఱ్ఱములను రథములను సమకూర్చుకొనిన ముప్పది ఇద్దరు రాజులుండగా సిరియారాజైన బెన్హదదు తన సైన్యమంతటిని సమకూర్చుకొని బయలుదేరి షోమ్రోనుకు ముట్టడి వేసి దానిమీద యుద్ధము చేసెను.

1. And Benadab ye kynge of Siria gathered all his power, & there were two & thirtie kynges wt him, & horses & charettes, and he wente vp, and layed sege vnto Samaria, & foughte agaynst it.

2. అతడు పట్టణమందున్న ఇశ్రాయేలురాజైన అహాబునొద్దకు దూతలను పంపి

2. And he sent messaungers vnto Achab ye kynge of Israel in to ye cite, & caused to saye vnto him: Thus sayeth Benadab:

3. నీ వెండియు నీ బంగారమును నావే, నీ భార్యలలోను నీ పిల్లలలోను సౌందర్యముగలవారు నావారని బెన్హదదు సెలవిచ్చుచున్నాడని వారిచేత వర్తమానము తెలియజేసెను.

3. Thy syluer & thy golde is myne, and thy wyues & thy best children are myne also.

4. అందుకు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజునా యేలినవాడవైన రాజా, నీవిచ్చిన సెలవుప్రకారము నేనును నాకు కలిగిన సమస్తమును నీ వశమున నున్నామనిప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చి వారిని పంపగా

4. The kynge of Israel answered, & sayde: My lorde O kynge, euen as thou hast sayde, I am thine, and all that I haue.

5. ఆ దూతలు పోయి ఆ మాట తెలియజేసి తిరిగి వచ్చిబెన్హదదు ఇట్లు సెల విచ్చుచున్నాడని తెలియజెప్పిరినీవు నీ వెండిని నీ బంగారమును నీ భార్యలను నీ పిల్లలను నాకు అప్పగింప వలెనని నేను నీయొద్దకు నా సేవకులను పంపియున్నాను.

5. And the messaungers came agayne, & sayde: Thus sayeth Benadab: For so moch as I haue sent vnto the, sayenge: Thy syluer & thy golde, thy wyues & thy childre

6. రేపు ఈ వేళకు వారు నీ యింటిని నీ సేవకుల యిండ్లను పరిశోధిం చుదురు; అప్పుడు నీ కంటికి ఏది యింపుగా నుండునో దానిని వారు చేతపట్టుకొని తీసికొని పోవుదురు.

6. shalt thou geue me, tomorow aboute this tyme wil I sende my seruautes vnto the, yt they maye serch thyne house and the houses of thy subiectes: & loke what pleasaunt thinge thou hast, yt shal they take in their handes, and cary it awaye.

7. కాగా ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు దేశపు పెద్దలనందరిని పిలువ నంపించిబెన్హదదునీ భార్యలను పిల్లలను వెండి బంగారములను పట్టుకొందునని వర్తమానము పంపగా నేను ఇయ్యనని చెప్పలేదు; ఆ మనుష్యుడు చేయ గోరుచున్న మోసము ఎట్టిదో అది మీరు తెలిసికొనుడనెను.

7. So the kynge of Israel called all ye Elders of the lode, & sayde: Mark well & se, what myschefe this ma seketh: He sent vnto me for my wyues & children for syluer & golde, & I haue not sayde him naye.

8. నీవతని మాట వినవద్దు, దానికి ఒప్పుకొనవద్దు అని ఆ పెద్దలును జనులందరును అతనితో చెప్పిరి,

8. Then sayde all the Elders and all the people vnto him: Thou shalt not cosente ner agree vnto him.

9. గనుక అతడుమీరు రాజైన నా యేలిన వానితో తెలియజెప్పవలసినదేమనగానీవు మొదట నీ సేవకుడనైన నాకు ఇచ్చిపంపిన ఆజ్ఞను నేను తప్పక అనుసరింతును గాని, నీవిప్పుడు సెలవిచ్చిన దానిని నేను చేయలేనని బెన్హదదు దూతలతో చెప్పుడనెను. ఆ దూతలు పోయి బెన్హదదునొద్దకు వచ్చి ఆ ప్రత్యుత్తరము తెలియజేయగా

9. And he spake vnto Benadabs messaugers, Saye vnto my lorde ye kynge: All ye thynges wherfore thou dyddest sende vnto me yi seruaunt at ye first, wil I do, but this can I not do. And ye messaungers wete, and tolde this againe.

10. బెన్హదదు మరల అతని యొద్దకు దూతలను పంపినాతోకూడ వచ్చిన వారందరును పిడికెడు ఎత్తికొని పోవుటకు షోమ్రోను యొక్క ధూళి చాలినయెడల దేవతలు నాకు గొప్ప అపాయము కలుగజేయుదురు గాక అని వర్తమానము చేసెను.

10. The sent Benadab vnto him sayege: The goddes do this and yt vnto me, yf the dust of Samaria shalbe ynough, for euery one of my people to brynge me an handfull therof.

11. అందుకు ఇశ్రాయేలురాజుతన ఆయుధమును నడుమున బిగించుకొనువాడు దానివిప్పి తీసి వేసినవానివలె అతిశయపడకూడదని చెప్పుడనెను.

11. But ye kynge of Israel answered, & sayde: Tell him, Let not him yt putteth on ye harnes, make his boast like him yt hath put it of

12. బన్హదదును ఆ రాజులును గుడారములయందు విందు జరి గించుకొనుచుండగా, ఈ ప్రత్యుత్తరము వారికి వచ్చెను గనుక అతడు తన సేవకులను పిలిపించి యుద్ధమునకు సిద్ధ పడుడని ఆజ్ఞాపించెను. వారు సన్నద్ధులై పట్టణము ఎదుట నిలువగా

12. Wha Benadab herde yt (eue as he was drynkinge wt the kynges in ye pauylion) he sayde vnto his seruautes: Set yor selues in araye. And they set the selues in araie against ye cite.

13. ప్రవక్తయైన యొకడు ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజైన అహాబునొద్దకు వచ్చి అతనితో ఇట్లనెనుయెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగాఈ గొప్ప దండంతయు నీవు చూచితివే; నేను యెహోవానని నీవు గ్రహించునట్లు నేడు దానిని నీచేతి కప్పగించెదను.

13. And beholde, there came a prophet vnto Achab ye kynge of Israel, & saide: Thus sayeth the LORDE: Hast thou sene all this greate multitude? Beholde, this daie wil I delyuer the in to yi hande, so yt thou shalt knowe, how yt I am ye LORDE.

14. ఇది యెవరిచేత జరుగునని అహాబు అడుగగా అతడురాజ్యాధిపతులలో ఉన్న ¸యౌవనులచేత జరుగునని యెహోవా సెల విచ్చుచున్నాడని చెప్పెను. యుద్ధమును ఎవరు ఆరంభము చేయవలెనని రాజు అడుగగా అతడునీవే అని ప్రత్యుత్తరమిచ్చెను.

14. Achab sayde: By whom? He sayde: Thus sayeth the LORDE: Euen by the yonge men of the rulers of the londe. He sayde: Who shal order the battayl? He sayde: Thou.

15. వెంటనే అతడు రాజ్యాధిపతులలో ఉన్న వారి లెక్కచూడగా వారు రెండువందల ముప్పది ఇద్దరైరి. తరువాత జనులను, అనగా ఇశ్రాయేలు వారినందరిని లెక్కింపగా వారు ఏడువేల మందియైరి.

15. Then mustered he the yonge men of the rulers of the londe, & there were two hudreth and two and thirtie of them: & after the mustured he of the whole people of all the childre of Israel, seue thousande men,

16. మధ్యాహ్నమందు వీరు బయలుదేరగా బెన్హదదును అతనికి సహకారులైన ఆ ముప్పది ఇద్దరు రాజులును గుడారములలో త్రాగి మత్తులై యుండిరి.

16. and they wente out in the noone daye. As for Benadab, he dranke and was dronken in the pauylion with the two & thirtie kynges which were come to helpe him.

17. రాజ్యాధిపతులలోనున్న ఆ ¸యౌవనులు ముందుగా బయలు దేరినప్పుడు సంగతి తెలిసికొనుటకై బెన్హదదు కొందరిని పంపెను. షోమ్రోనులోనుండి కొందరు వచ్చియున్నారని బంటులు తెలియజేయగా

17. And the yonge men of the rulers of the londe wente forth first. Benadab sent forth, & they brought him worde, & sayde: There come men out of Samaria.

18. అతడువారు సమాధానముగా వచ్చినను యుద్ధము చేయ వచ్చినను వారిని సజీవులుగా పట్టుకొనిరండని ఆజ్ఞాపించెను.

18. He sayde: Take them alyue, whether they be come forth for peace, or for warre.

19. రాజ్యాధిపతులలోనున్న ఆ ¸యౌవనులును వారితో కూడనున్న దండువారును పట్టణములోనుండి బయలుదేరి

19. But whan the londe rulers yonge men were gone forth, and the hoost behynde them, euery one smote him yt came in his waye.

20. ప్రతివాడు తన్ను ఎదిరించిన వానిని చంపగా సిరియనులు పారిపోయిరి. ఇశ్రాయేలువారు వారిని తరుము చుండగా సిరియా రాజైన బెన్హదదు గుఱ్ఱమెక్కి రౌతులతో గూడ తప్పించుకొని పోయెను.

20. And the Sirians fled, and Israel folowed after them. And Benadab the kynge of Syria escaped with horses and horsme.

21. అంతట ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు బయలుదేరి గుఱ్ఱములను రథములను ఓడించి సిరియనులను బహుగా హతము చేసెను.

21. And the kynge of Israel wente forth, and smote horses and charettes, and dyd a greate slaughter on the Syrians.

22. అప్పుడు ఆ ప్రవక్త ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చినీవు బలము తెచ్చుకొనుము, నీవు చేయవలసిన దానిని కనిపెట్టి యుండుము, ఏడాదినాటికి సిరియారాజు నీమీదికి మరల వచ్చునని అతనితో చెప్పెను.

22. Then came there a prophet vnto the kynge of Israel, and sayde vnto him: Go thy waye and strength the, and take hede, and loke well what thou doest: for whan the yeare is aboute, the kynge of Syria shall come agaynst the of the new.

23. అయితే సిరియా రాజు సేవకులు అతనితో ఈలాగు మనవి చేసిరివారి దేవతలు కొండదేవతలు గనుక వారు మనకంటె బలవంతులైరి. అయితే మనము మైదానమందు వారితో యుద్ధము చేసిన యెడల నిశ్చయముగా వారిని గెలుచుదుము.

23. For the kynge of ye Syrians seruauntes sayde vnto him: Their goddes are goddes of the mountaynes, therfore haue they gotten the victory. But let vs fyghte with them on the playne, and thou shalt se that we shal ouercome them.

24. ఇందుకు మీరు చేయవలసిన దేమనగా, ఆ రాజులలో ఒక్కొకని వాని వాని ఆధిపత్యములోనుండి తీసివేసి వారికి బదులుగా సేనాధిపతులను నిర్ణయించి

24. Do thus, put awaye the kynges euery one from his place, and set dukes in their steades,

25. నీవు పోగొట్టుకొనిన బలము ఎంతో అంత బలమును, గుఱ్ఱములకు గుఱ్ఱములను రథములకు రథములను లెక్కించి పోగు చేయుము; అప్పుడు మనము మైదానమునందు వారితో యుద్ధము చేసినయెడల అవశ్యముగా మనము వారిని గెలు చుదమని మనవి చేయగా అతడు వారు చెప్పిన మాట విని ఆ ప్రకారము చేసెను.

25. and appoynte the an hoost as was that which thou hast lost, & horses & charettes as the other were, and let vs fight agaynst the in the plaine, and thou shalt se that we shal haue the victory. He cosented vnto their voyce, and dyd so.

26. కాబట్టి మరుసంవత్సరము బెన్హదదు సిరియనులను సమకూర్చి లెక్కచూచి బయలుదేరి పోయి ఇశ్రాయేలువారితో యుద్ధము చేయుటకై ఆఫెకునకు వచ్చెను.

26. Now whan the yeare was gone aboute, Benadab appoynted the Sirians, and wente vp towarde Aphek, to fighte agaynst Israel,

27. ఇశ్రాయేలు వారందరును పోగు చేయబడి సిద్ధమై వారిని ఎదిరింప బయలుదేరిరి. ఇశ్రా యేలువారు మేకపిల్లల మందలు రెంటివలె వారియెదుట దిగియుండిరి గాని దేశము సిరియనులచేత కప్పబడి యుండెను.

27. and the childre of Israel mustured, and prouyded them selues with vytailes, and wete to mete them, and pitched their tetes ouer against them, like two litle flockes of goates but the londe was full of the Syrians.

28. అప్పుడు దైవజనుడైన యొకడు వచ్చి ఇశ్రా యేలు రాజుతో ఇట్లనెనుయెహోవా సెలవిచ్చున దేమనగాసిరియనులు యెహోవాకొండలకు దేవుడేగాని లోయలకు దేవుడు కాడని అనుకొందురు; అయితే నేను యెహోవానై యున్నానని మీరు తెలిసికొనునట్లు ఈ గొప్ప సమూహమంతయు నీ చేతికి అప్పగించెదను.

28. And there came a man of God, and sayde vnto the kynge of Israel: Thus sayeth the LORDE: Because the Syrians haue sayde, that the LORDE is a God of the moutaynes and not a God of the valleys, therfore haue I geuen all this greate heape in to thy handes, that ye maye knowe how that I am ye LORDE.

29. వారు ఎదురుముఖములుగా ఏడుదినములు గుడారములు వేసికొని యుండిన తరువాత ఏడవ దినమందు యుద్ధమునకు కలిసికొనగా ఇశ్రాయేలువారు ఒక దినమందే సిరియనుల కాల్బలము లక్షమందిని హతము చేసిరి.

29. And they pitched their tentes right ouer agaynst them seuen dayes. But vpon ye seuenth daye they wente together in to the battayll: and the children of Israel smote of the Sirians an hundreth thousande fote men in one daye,

30. తక్కినవారు ఆఫెకు పట్టణములోనికి పారిపోగా అచ్చటనున్న యొకప్రాకారము శేషించినవారిలో ఇరువది యేడు వేలమంది మీద పడెను. బెన్హదదు పారిపోయి ఆ పట్టణమందు ప్రవేశించి ఆ యాగదులలో చొరగా

30. and the remnaunt fled to Aphek in to the cite, and the wall fell vpon the other seuen and twenty thousande men. And Benadab fled also vnto the cite in to a litle chamber.

31. అతని సేవకులుఇశ్రాయేలు వారి రాజులు దయాపరులని మేమువింటిమి గనుక నీకు అనుకూలమైనయెడల మేము నడుమునకు గోనెలు కట్టుకొని తలమీద త్రాళ్లు వేసికొని ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజునొద్దకు పోవుదుము; అతడు నీ ప్రాణమును రక్షించు నేమో అని రాజుతో అనగా రాజు అందుకు సమ్మతించెను.

31. Then sayde his seruauntes vnto him: Beholde, we haue herde that the kynges of the house of Israel are mercifull kinges, Let vs therfore put sack cloth aboute oure loynes, and halters aboute oure neckes, & go forth to the kynge of Israel, peraduenture he shal let yi soule lyue.

32. కావున వారు తమ నడుములకు గోనెలు కట్టుకొని తలమీద త్రాళ్లు వేసి కొని ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చినీ దాసుడైన బెన్హదదుదయచేసి నన్ను బ్రదుకనిమ్మని మనవి చేయుటకై మమ్మును పంపెనని చెప్పగా అతడుబెన్హదదు నా సహోదరుడు, అతడు ఇంకను సజీవుడై యున్నాడా అని యడిగెను.

32. And they put sack cloth aboute their loynes, and halters aboute their neckes, and came to the kynge of Israel, and sayde: Benadab thy seruaunt sayeth vnto the: O let my soule lyue. He sayde: yf he be yet alyue, he is my brother.

33. అప్పుడు ఆ మనుష్యులు సంగతి గ్రహించి అతని మనస్సు ఏలాగున నున్నదో అది నిశ్చయముగా గుర్తెరిగి ఆ మాటనుబట్టిబెన్హదదు నీకు సహోదరుడే అని చెప్పగా అతడుమీరు వెళ్లి అతనిని తోడుకొని రండనెను. బెన్హదదు తనయొద్దకు రాగా అతడు తన రథముమీద అతని ఎక్కించుకొనెను.

33. And the men toke him shortly at his worde, and expounded it for them selues and sayde: Yee Benadab is thy brother. He sayde: Come and brynge him. The wente Benadab forth vnto him, and he caused him to syt vpon the charet,

34. అంతట బెన్హదదుతమ తండ్రి చేతిలోనుండి నా తండ్రి తీసికొనిన పట్టణములను నేను మరల అప్పగించెదను; మరియు నా తండ్రి షోమ్రోనులో వీధులను కట్టించుకొనినట్లు దమస్కులో తమకొరకు తమరు వీధులను కట్టించు కొనవచ్చును అని అతనితో చెప్పగా అహాబు ఈ ప్రకారముగా నీతో సంధిచేసి నిన్ను పంపివేయుదునని చెప్పి అతనితో సంధిచేసి అతని పోనిచ్చెను.

34. and sayde vnto him: The cities that my father toke from thy father, wyl I geue the agayne. And make thou stretes for thyselfe at Damasco, as my father did at Samaria, so wyl I let the go with a bonde of peace. And he made a couenaunt with him, and let him go.

35. అంతట ప్రవక్తల శిష్యులలో ఒకడు యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞచేత తన చెలికానితోనన్ను కొట్టుమనగా అతడు అతని కొట్టుటకు ఒప్పకపోయినప్పుడు

35. Then spake there a man amonge the children of the prophetes vnto his neghboure by the worde of the LORDE: I praye the smite me. But he refused to smite him.

36. అతడునీవు యెహోవా ఆజ్ఞకు లోబడకపోతివి గనుక నీవు నన్ను విడిచిపోగానే సింహము నిన్ను చంపునని అతనితో చెప్పెను. అతడు వెళ్లిపోగానే సింహమొకటి అతనికి ఎదురై అతనిని చంపెను.

36. Then saide he vnto him, because thou hast not herkened vnto the voyce of the LORDE, beholde, therfore shall there a lyon smyte the, whan thou goest fro me. And whan he wente fro him, a lyon founde him, and slewe him.

37. తరువాత మరియొకడు అతనికి కనబడినప్పుడు అతడునన్ను కొట్టుమనగా అతడు అతని కొట్టి గాయ పరచెను.

37. And he founde another man, and sayde: I praye the smyte me. And the man smote him, and wounded him,

38. అప్పుడు ఆ ప్రవక్త పోయి, కండ్లమీద పాగా కట్టుకొని మారు వేషము వేసికొని, మార్గమందు రాజు యొక్క రాకకై కనిపెట్టుకొని యుండి

38. Then wente the prophet, and stepte vnto the kynge by the waye syde, and altered his face with a?shes.

39. రాజు వచ్చుట చూచి బిగ్గరగా రాజుతో ఈలాగు మనవి చేసికొనెనునీ దాసుడనైన నేను యుద్ధములోనికి పోయియుండగా ఇదిగో ఒకడు ఇటు తిరిగి ఒక మనుష్యుని నాయొద్దకు తోడుకొని వచ్చి యీ మనుష్యుని కనిపెట్టుము; ఏ విధము గానైనను వాడు తప్పించుకొని పోయినయెడల వాని ప్రాణమునకు మారుగా నీ ప్రాణముపోవును; లేదా నీవు రెండు మణుగుల వెండిని ఇయ్యవలెననెను.

39. And whan the kynge wente by, he cried vpon ye kynge, and sayde: Thy seruaunt wente forth in to the battayll, and beholde, there wente one asyde, and broughte a man vnto me, and sayde: Kepe this ma: yf he be myssed, thy soule shall be in steade of his soule, or els thou shalt weye downe an hundreth weighte of syluer.

40. అయితే నీ దాసుడనైన నేను పనిమీద అక్కడక్కడ తిరుగుచుండగా వాడు కనబడకపోయెను. అప్పుడు ఇశ్రా యేలురాజునీకు నీవే తీర్పు తీర్బుకొంటివి గనుక నీవుచెప్పినట్టుగానే నీకు జరుగును అని అతనికి సెలవియ్యగా

40. And whyle thy seruaunt had here & there to do, he was awaye. The kynge of Israel sayde vnto him: It is thine owne iudgment, thou hast geuen it thyselfe.

41. అతడు త్వరపడి తన కండ్లమీది పాగా తీసివేయగా చూచి అతడు ప్రవక్తలలో ఒకడని రాజు పోల్చెను.

41. Then put he the a?shes from his face in all the haist. And the kynge of Israel knewe him, that he was one of the prophetes.

42. అప్పుడు అతడుయెహోవా సెలవిచ్చునదేమనగానేను శపించిన మనుష్యుని నీవు నీ చేతిలోనుండి తప్పించుకొని పోనిచ్చితివి గనుక వాని ప్రాణమునకు మారుగా నీ ప్రాణమును, వాని జనులకు మారుగా నీ జనులును అప్పగింప బడుదురని రాజుతో అనగా

42. And he sayde vnto him: Thus sayeth the LORDE: Because thou hast let the damned man go, therfore shall thy soule be for his soule, and thy people for his people.

43. ఇశ్రాయేలు రాజు మూతి ముడుచు కొనిన వాడై కోపముతో షోమ్రోనులోని తన నగరునకు వచ్చెను.

43. And the kynge of Israel departed vnto his house, beinge troubled in his mynde and full indignacion, and came to Samaria.
