1. తరువాత దావీదు కుమారుడగు అబ్షాలోమునకు తామారను నొక సుందరవతియగు సహోదరియుండగా దావీదు కుమారుడగు అమ్నోను ఆమెను మోహించెను.

1. After this, so it was that Absalom the sonne of Dauid had a fayre sister, named Thamar, whom Amnon ye sonne of Dauid loued.

2. తామారు కన్యయైనందున ఆమెకు ఏమి చేయవలెనన్నను దుర్లభమని అమ్నోను గ్రహించి చింతాక్రాంతుడై తన చెల్లెలైన తామారునుబట్టి చిక్కిపోయెను.

2. And he was so sore vexed, that he fell sycke for his sister Thamar: for she shas a virgin, and he thought it hard for him to do any thing to her.

3. అమ్నోనునకు మిత్రుడొకడుండెను. అతడు దావీదు సహోదరుడైన షిమ్యా కుమారుడు, అతని పేరు యెహోనాదాబు. ఈ యెహోనాదాబు బహు కపటముగలవాడు. అతడు

3. But Amnon had a frende called Ionadab, the sonne of Simah, Dauids brother: And Ionadab was a very subtile man.

4. రాజకుమారుడవైన నీవు నానాటికి చిక్కిపోవుటకు హేతువేమి? సంగతి నాకు తెలియజెప్పవా అని అమ్నోనుతో అనగా అమ్నోనునా తమ్ముడగు అబ్షాలోము సహోదరియైన తామారును నేను మోహించియున్నానని అతనితో అనెను.

4. And he said vnto him: How commeth it, that thou being the kinges sonne, art thus consumed from day to day? Wylt thou not tell me? Amnon aunswered him: I loue Thamar my brother Absaloms sister.

5. యెహోనాదాబు­నీవు రోగివైనట్టువేషము వేసికొని నీ మంచముమీద పండుకొనియుండుము. నీ తండ్రి నిన్ను చూచుటకు వచ్చినప్పుడు నీవు­నా చెల్లెలైన తామారుచేత సిద్ధపరచబడిన భోజనము నేను భుజించునట్లు ఆమె వచ్చి నేను చూచుచుండగా దానిని సిద్ధము చేసి నాకు పెట్టునట్లు సెలవిమ్మని అడుగుమని అతనికి బోధింపగా అమ్నోను పడకమీద పండుకొనెను.

5. Ionadab saide vnto him, Lay thee downe on thy bed, and make thy selfe sicke: And when thy father is come to see thee, saye vnto him: I pray thee let my sister Thamar come, and geue me meate, and dresse it in my syght, that I may see it, and eate it of her hand.

6. అమ్నోను కాయిలాపడెనని రాజు అతని చూడ వచ్చినప్పుడు అమ్నోనునా చెల్లెలగు తామారు చేతి వంటకము నేను భుజించునట్లు ఆమె వచ్చి నేను చూచుచుండగా నాకొరకు రెండు అప్పములు చేయుటకు సెల విమ్మని రాజుతో మనవి చేయగా

6. And so Amnon laye downe, and made him selfe sicke: And when the king was come to see him, Amnon saide vnto the king: I pray thee let Thamar my sister come, and make me a coople of cakes in my sight, that I may eate of her hand.

7. దావీదునీ అన్నయగు అమ్నోను ఇంటికి పోయి అతనికొరకు భోజనము సిద్ధము చేయుమని తామారు ఇంటికి వర్తమానము పంపెను.

7. Then Dauid sent home to Thamar, saying: Go now to thy brother Amnos house, and dresse him meate.

8. కాబట్టి తామారు తన అన్నయగు అమ్నోను ఇంటికి పోయెను.

8. So Thamar went to her brother Amnons house, & he was layed downe: And she toke floure, and kneaded it, and made cakes in his sight, and dyd bake them.

9. అతడు పండుకొనియుండగా ఆమె పిండితీసికొని కలిపి అతని యెదుట అప్పములు చేసి వాటిని కాల్చి బొరుసు పట్టుకొని అతనికి వడ్డింపగా అతడునాకు వద్దని చెప్పిఉన్నవారందరు నాయొద్ద నుండి అవతలకు పొండ నెను.

9. And toke a panne, and powred them out before him: but he would not eate. And Amnon saide: Haue out all men from me. And they went all out from him.

10. వారందరు బయటికి పోయిన తరువాత అమ్నోనునీచేతి వంటకము నేను భుజించునట్లు దానిని గదిలోనికి తెమ్మనగా, తామారు తాను చేసిన అప్పములను తీసికొని గదిలోపలనున్న తన అన్నయగు అమ్నోను నొద్దకు వచ్చెను.

10. And Amnon saide vnto Thamar: Bring the meate into the chamber, that I may eate of thyne hand. And Thamar toke ye cakes which she had made, and brought them into the chamber to Amnon her brother:

11. అయితే అతడు భుజింపవలెనని ఆమె వాటిని తీసికొనివచ్చినప్పుడు అతడు ఆమెను పట్టుకొనినా చెల్లీ రమ్ము, నాతో శయనించుము అని చెప్పగా

11. And whe she had set them before him to eate, he toke her, and saide vnto her: Come, lye with me my sister.

12. ఆమెనా అన్నా, నన్ను అవమానపరచకుము; ఈలాగు చేయుట ఇశ్రాయేలీయులకు తగదు, ఇట్టి జారకార్యము నీవు చేయవద్దు, నా యవమానము నేనెక్కడ దాచు కొందును?

12. And she aunswered him: Nay my brother, do not force me, for there hath no such thing ben done in Israel: Do not thou this folly.

13. నీవును ఇశ్రాయేలీయులలో దుర్మార్గుడవగు దువు; అయితే ఇందునుగూర్చి రాజుతో మాటలాడుము;

13. And I, whyther shall I cause my shame to go? And thou shalt be as one of the fooles in Israel: Now therefore, I pray thee speake vnto the king, and he wyll not denie me vnto thee.

14. అతడు నన్ను నీకియ్యక పోడు అని చెప్పినను అతడు ఆమె మాట వినక ఆమెను బలవంతముచేసి అవమానపరచి ఆమెతో శయనించెను.

14. Howbeit, he would not hearken vnto her voyce: but being stronger then she, forced her, and lay with her.

15. అమ్నోను ఈలాగు చేసిన తరువాత ఆమెయెడల అత్యధికమైన ద్వేషము పుట్టి అదివరకు ఆమెను ప్రేమించినంతకంటె అతడు మరి యెక్కువగా ఆమెను ద్వేషించి లేచి పొమ్మని ఆమెతో చెప్పగా

15. And then Amnon hated her exceedingly, so that the hatred wherewith he hated her, was greater then the loue with which he before loued her: And Amnon saide vnto her: Up, and get thee hence.

16. ఆమెనన్ను బయటకు తోసివేయుటవలన నాకు నీవిప్పుడు చేసిన కీడుకంటె మరి యెక్కువకీడు చేయకుమని చెప్పినను

16. She aunswered him, There is no cause: This euill that thou puttest me away, is greater then the other that thou diddest vnto me. Neuerthelesse, he would not heare her:

17. అతడు ఆమె మాట వినక తన పని వారిలో ఒకని పిలిచిదీనిని నాయొద్దనుండి వెళ్లగొట్టి తలుపు గడియ వేయుమని చెప్పెను.

17. But called his boye that serued him, and saide: Put away this woman from me, and bolt the doore after her.

18. కన్యకలైన రాజకుమార్తెలు వివిధ వర్ణములుగల చీరలు ధరించువారు ఆమె యట్టి చీరయొకటి ధరించి యుండెను. పనివాడు ఆమెను బయటికి వెళ్లగొట్టి మరల రాకుండునట్లు తలుపు గడియవేసెను.

18. And she had a garment of diuers colours vpon her: for with such wer the kinges daughters (that were virgins) appareled. Then his seruaunt brought her out, and locked the doore after her.

19. అప్పుడు తామారు నెత్తిమీద బుగ్గిపోసికొని తాను కట్టుకొనిన వివిధ వర్ణములుగల చీరను చింపి నెత్తి మీద చెయ్యిపెట్టుకొని యేడ్చుచు పోగా

19. And Thamar toke and put ashes on her head, and rent her garment of diuers colours that was on her, & layed her hand on her head, and so went, and as she went, cryed.

20. ఆమె అన్నయగు అబ్షాలోము ఆమెను చూచినీ అన్నయగు అమ్నోను నిన్ను కూడినాడు గదా? నా చెల్లీ నీవు ఊర కుండుము; అతడు నీ అన్నే గదా, యిందునుగూర్చి చింతపడవద్దనెను. కావున తామారు చెరుపబడినదై తన అన్నయగు అబ్షాలోము ఇంట నుండెను.

20. And Absalom her brother saide vnto her: Hath Amnon thy brother ben with thee? Now yet be still my sister, he is thy brother, let not this thing greeue thyne heart. And so Thamar remayned desolate in her brother Absaloms house.

21. ఈ సంగతి రాజగు దావీదునకు వినబడినప్పుడు అతడు బహురౌద్రము తెచ్చుకొనెను.

21. But when king Dauid heard of all these thinges, he was very wroth.

22. అబ్షాలోము తన అన్నయగు అమ్నోనుతో మంచి చెడ్డ లేమియు మాటలాడక ఊరకుండెను గాని, తన సహోదరియగు తామారును బలవంతము చేసి నందుకై అతనిమీద పగయుంచెను.

22. And Absalom sayde vnto his brother Amnon neither good nor bad: Howbeit, Absalom hated Amnon, because he had forced his sister Thamar.

23. రెండు సంవత్సరములైన తరువాత ఎఫ్రాయిమునకు సమీపమందుండు బయల్దాసోరులో అబ్షాలోము గొఱ్ఱెల బొచ్చు కత్తిరించుకాలము రాగా అబ్షాలోము రాజకుమారుల నందరిని విందునకు పిలిచెను.

23. And after the tyme of two yeres, Absalom had sheepe shearers in the playne of Hazor beside Ephraim, & bade all the kinges sonnes.

24. అబ్షాలోము రాజునొద్దకు వచ్చిచిత్తగించుము, నీ దాసుడనైన నాకు గొఱ్ఱె బొచ్చు కత్తిరించు కాలము వచ్చెను; రాజవైన నీవును నీ సేవకులును విందునకు రావలెనని నీ దాసుడనైన నేను కోరుచున్నానని మనవి చేయగా

24. And came to the king, and saide: Beholde, thy seruaunt hath sheepe shearers, I pray thee that the king with his seruauntes come to thy seruaunt.

25. రాజునా కుమారుడా, మమ్మును పిలువవద్దు; మేము నీకు అధిక భారముగా ఉందుము; మేమందరము రాతగదని చెప్పినను అబ్షాలోము రాజును బలవంతము చేసెను.

25. The king aunswered Absalom: Nay my sonne, I pray thee let vs not go all, lest we be chargeable vnto thee. And Absalom laye sore vpon him: howbeit he would not go, but blessed him.

26. అయితే దావీదు వెళ్ల నొల్లక అబ్షాలోమును దీవించి పంపగా అబ్షాలోమునీవు రాకపోయిన యెడల నా అన్నయగు అమ్నోను మాతోకూడ వచ్చునట్లు సెలవిమ్మని రాజుతో మనవి చేసెను. అతడు నీయొద్దకు ఎందుకు రావలెనని రాజు అడుగగా

26. Then saide Absalom: but I pray thee shall not my brother Amnon go with vs? And the king aunswered him: what needeth it that he go with thee?

27. అబ్షాలోము అతని బతిమాలినందున రాజు అమ్నోనును తన కుమారులందరును అతని యొద్దకు పోవచ్చు నని సెలవిచ్చెను.

27. But Absalom made such instaunce, that he let Amnon & all the kinges children go with him.

28. అంతలో అబ్షాలోము తన పనివారిని పిలిచి, అమ్నోను ద్రాక్షారసమువలన సంతోషియై యుండుట మీరు కనిపెట్టియుండి అమ్నోనును హతము చేయుడని నేను మీతో చెప్పు నప్పుడు భయపడక అతని చంపుడి, నేను గదా మీకు ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చి యున్నాను, ధైర్యము తెచ్చుకొని పౌరుషము చూపుడి అని గట్టిగా ఆజ్ఞ ఇచ్చెను.

28. Now had Absalom commaunded his young men, saying: Marke when Amnons heart is mery with wine, and when I bid you smyte Amnon: then kil him, and feare not: haue not I bidden you? be bolde therfore, & play the men.

29. అబ్షాలోము ఇచ్చిన ఆజ్ఞచొప్పునవారు చేయగా రాజకుమారులందరును లేచి తమ కంచరగాడిదల నెక్కి పారిపోయిరి.

29. And the seruauntes of Absalom dyd vnto Amnon euen as Absalom had commaunded: And al the kinges sonnes arose, and euery man gat him vp vpon his mule, and fled.

30. వారు మార్గములో ఉండగానే యొకడును లేకుండ రాజకుమారులను అందరిని అబ్షాలోము హతముచేసెనని దావీదునకు వార్త రాగా

30. And whyle they were yet in the way, tydinges came to Dauid, saying: Absalom hath slaine all the kinges sonnes, and there is none left alyue.

31. అతడు లేచి వస్త్రములు చింపుకొని నేలపడియుండెను; మరియు అతని సేవకులందరు వస్త్రములు చింపుకొని దగ్గర నిలువబడియుండిరి.

31. Then the king arose, & tare his garmentes, and lay along on the earth: and all his seruauntes stoode by with their clothes rent.

32. దావీదు సహోదరుడైన షిమ్యాకు పుట్టిన యెహోనాదాబు దీనిని చూచిరాజకుమారులైన ¸యవ నులనందరిని వారు చంపిరని నా యేలినవాడవగు నీవు తలంచవద్దు; అమ్నోను మాత్రమే మరణమాయెను; ఏల యనగా అతడు అబ్షాలోము చెల్లెలైన తామారును బలవంతము చేసిననాటనుండి అబ్షా లోము అతని చంపవలెనను తాత్పర్యముతో ఉండెనని అతని నోటి మాటనుబట్టి నిశ్చ యించుకొనవచ్చును.

32. And Ionadab the sonne of Simeach Dauids brother, aunswered, and sayde: Let not my lorde suppose that they haue slaine all the young men of the kings sonnes, but Amnon onely is dead: For that hath ben determined in Absaloms minde, since he forced his sister Thamar.

33. కాబట్టి నా యేలినవాడవగు నీవు రాజకుమారులందరును మరణమైరని తలచి విచారపడవద్దు; అమ్నోను మాత్రమే మరణమాయెననెను.

33. Now therefore, let not my lorde the king take the thing so greeuously, to thinke that all the kinges sonnes are dead, for Amnon onely is dead.

34. అబ్షాలోము ఇంతకు ముందు పారిపోయి యుండెను. కావలియున్న పని వాడు ఎదురుచూచుచున్నప్పుడు తన వెనుక కొండ ప్రక్కనున్న మార్గమున వచ్చుచున్న అనేక జనులు కనబడిరి.

34. But Absalom fled: And ye young man that kept the watch, lyft vp his eyes & loked, and beholde there came much people by the way of the hill syde behinde him.

35. యెహోనాదాబు అదిగో రాజకుమారులు వచ్చియున్నారు; నీ దాసుడనైన నేను చెప్పిన ప్రకారము గానే ఆయెనని రాజుతో చెప్పెను.

35. And Ionadab said vnto the king, Beholde, the kinges sonnes come: As thy seruaunt said, so it is.

36. అతడు ఆమాటలాడ చాలింపగానే రాజకుమారులు వచ్చి బిగ్గరగా ఏడ్వ సాగిరి, రాజును అతని సేవకులందరును దీనిని చూచి బహుగా ఏడ్చిరి.

36. And assoone as he had left speaking, beholde the kinges sonnes came, & lyft vp their voyces, and wept: The king also & all his seruauntes wept exceedingly sore.

37. అయితే అబ్షాలోము పారిపోయి అమీహూదు కుమారుడైన తల్మయి అను గెషూరు రాజునొద్ద చేరెను. దావీదు అనుదినమును తన కుమారునికొరకు అంగలార్చుచుండెను.

37. But Absalom escaped, and went to Thalmai the sonne of Ammihur kyng of Gesur: And Dauid mourned for his sonne euery day.

38. అబ్షాలోము పారిపోయి గెషూరునకు వచ్చి అక్కడ మూడు సంవత్సరములున్న తరువాత

38. And so Absalom escaped, and went to Gesur, and was there three yeres.

39. రాజైన దావీదు అమ్నోను మరణమాయెననుకొని అతనినిగూర్చి యోదార్పు నొందినవాడై అబ్షాలోమును పట్టుకొనవలెనన్న ఆలోచన మానెను.

39. And king Dauid desired to go foorth vnto Absalom: For where as Amnon was dead, he was comforted ouer him.
