1. యెహోవా నీవు లేచి నీ దేశమునుండియు నీ బంధువుల యొద్దనుండియు నీ తండ్రి యింటి నుండియు బయలుదేరి నేను నీకు చూపించు దేశమునకు వెళ్లుము.

1. Then the LORD said unto Abram: Get thee out of thy country and from thy kindred, and out of thy father's house, into a land which I will shew thee.

2. నిన్ను గొప్ప జనముగా చేసి నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించి నీ నామమును గొప్ప చేయుదును, నీవు ఆశీర్వాదముగా నుందువు.

2. And I will make of thee a mighty people, and will bless thee, and make thy name great, that thou mayst be a blessing.

3. నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించువారిని ఆశీర్వదించెదను; నిన్ను దూషించువాని శపించెదను; భూమియొక్క సమస్తవంశములు నీయందు ఆశీర్వదించబడునని అబ్రాముతో అనగా

3. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse them that curse thee. And in thee shall be blessed all the generations of the earth.

4. యెహోవా అతనితో చెప్పిన ప్రకారము అబ్రాము వెళ్లెను. లోతు అతనితో కూడ వెళ్లెను. అబ్రాము హారానునుండి బయలుదేరినప్పుడు డెబ్బదియైదేండ్ల యీడు గలవాడు.

4. And Abram went as the LORD bade him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy five year old, when he went out of Haran.

5. అబ్రాము తన భార్యయయిన శారయిని తన సహోదరుని కుమారుడయిన లోతును, హారానులో తానును వారును ఆర్జించిన యావదాస్తిని వారు సంపాదించిన సమస్తమైన వారిని తీసికొని కనానను దేశమునకు వచ్చిరి.

5. And Abram took Sarai his wife and Lot his brother's son, with all their goods which they had gotten and souls which they had begotten in Haran. And they departed to go into the land of Chanaan. And when they were come into the land of Chanaan,

6. అప్పుడు అబ్రాము షెకెమునందలి యొక స్థలము దాక ఆ దేశ సంచారముచేసి మోరే దగ్గర నున్న సింధూరవృక్షము నొద్దకు చేరెను. అప్పుడు కనానీయులు ఆ దేశములో నివసించిరి.

6. Abram went forth into the land till he came unto a place called Sichem, and unto the oak of More. And the Cananites dwelled then in the land.

7. యెహోవా అబ్రామునకు ప్రత్యక్షమయి నీ సంతానమునకు ఈ దేశ మిచ్చెదనని చెప్పగా అతడు తనకు ప్రత్యక్షమైన యెహోవాకు ఒక బలిపీఠమును కట్టెను.

7. Then the LORD appeared unto Abram and said: unto thy seed will I give this land. And he builded an altar there unto the LORD(LORDE) which appeared to him.

8. అక్కడనుండి అతడు బయలుదేరి బేతేలుకు తూర్పుననున్న కొండకు చేరి పడమటనున్న బేతేలునకును తూర్పుననున్న హాయికిని మధ్యను గుడారము వేసి అక్కడ యెహోవాకు బలిపీఠమును కట్టెను.

8. Then departed he thence unto a mountain that lieth on the east side of BETHEL and pitched his tent: BETHEL being on the west side, and Ay on the east: and he builded there an altar unto the LORD, and called on the name of the LORD.

9. అబ్రాము ఇంకా ప్రయాణము చేయుచు దక్షిణ దిక్కుకు వెళ్లెను.

9. And then Abram departed and took his journey southward.

10. అప్పుడు ఆ దేశములో కరవు వచ్చెను. ఆ దేశములో కరవు భారముగా నున్నందున అబ్రాము ఐగుప్తు దేశములో నివసించుటకు అక్కడికి వెళ్లెను.

10. After this there came a dearth in the land. And Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there, for the dearth was sore in the land.

11. అతడు ఐగుప్తులో ప్రవేశించుటకు సమీపించినప్పుడు అతడు తన భార్యయయిన శారయితో ఇదిగో నీవు చక్కనిదానివని యెరుగుదును.

11. And when he was come nigh for to enter into Egypt, he said unto Sarai his wife. Behold, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon.

12. ఐగుప్తీయులు నిన్ను చూచి యీమె అతని భార్య అని చెప్పి నన్ను చంపి నిన్ను బ్రదుక నిచ్చెదరు.

12. It will come to pass therefore when the Egyptians see thee, that they will say: she is his wife. And so shall they slay me and save thee.

13. నీ వలన నాకు మేలు కలుగునట్లును నిన్నుబట్టి నేను బ్రదుకు నట్లును నీవు నా సహోదరివని దయచేసి చెప్పుమనెను.

13. Say I pray thee therefore that thou art my sister, that I may fare the better by reason of thee, and that my soul may live for thy sake.

14. అబ్రాము ఐగుప్తులో చేరినప్పుడు ఐగుప్తీయులు ఆ స్త్రీ మిక్కిలి సౌందర్యవతియయి యుండుట చూచిరి

14. As soon as he came into Egypt, the Egyptians saw the woman that she was very fair.

15. ఫరోయొక్క అధిపతులు ఆమెను చూచి ఫరోయెదుట ఆమెను పొగడిరి గనుక ఆ స్త్రీ ఫరో యింటికి తేబడెను.

15. And Pharao's lords saw her also, and praised her unto Pharao: So that she was taken into Pharao's house,

16. అతడామెనుబట్టి అబ్రామునకు మేలుచేసెను; అందువలన అతనికి గొఱ్ఱెలు గొడ్లు మగ గాడిదలు దాసులు పనికత్తెలు ఆడుగాడిదలు ఒంటెలు ఇయ్యబడెను.

16. which entreated Abram well for her sake, so that he had sheep, oxen and he asses, men servants, maid servants, she asses and camels.

17. అయితే యెహోవా అబ్రాము భార్యయయిన శారయినిబట్టి ఫరోను అతని యింటివారిని మహావేదనలచేత బాధించెను.

17. But GOD(The LORDE) plagued Pharao and his house with great plagues, because of Sarai Abram's wife.

18. అప్పుడు ఫరో అబ్రామును పిలిపించి నీవు నాకు చేసినది యేమిటి? ఈమె నీ భార్య అని నాకెందుకు తెలుపలేదు?

18. Then Pharao called Abram and said: Why hast thou thus dealt with me? Wherefore toldest thou me not that she was thy wife?

19. ఈమె నా సహోదరి అని యేల చెప్పితివి? నేనామెను నా భార్యగా చేసికొందునేమో అయితే నేమి, ఇదిగో నీ భార్య; ఈమెను తీసికొనిపొమ్మని చెప్పెను.

19. Why saidest thou that she was thy sister, and causedest me to take her to my wife? But now lo, there is thy wife, take her and be walking.

20. మరియు ఫరో అతని విషయమై తన జనుల కాజ్ఞాపించినందున వారు అతనిని అతని భార్యను అతనికి కలిగిన సమస్తమును పంపివేసిరి.

20. Pharao also gave a charge unto his men over Abram, to lead him out, with his wife and all that he had.
