1. యెహోవా నీవు లేచి నీ దేశమునుండియు నీ బంధువుల యొద్దనుండియు నీ తండ్రి యింటి నుండియు బయలుదేరి నేను నీకు చూపించు దేశమునకు వెళ్లుము.

1. NOW [in Haran] the Lord said to Abram, Go for yourself [for your own advantage] away from your country, from your relatives and your father's house, to the land that I will show you. [Heb. 11:8-10.]

2. నిన్ను గొప్ప జనముగా చేసి నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించి నీ నామమును గొప్ప చేయుదును, నీవు ఆశీర్వాదముగా నుందువు.

2. And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you [with abundant increase of favors] and make your name famous and distinguished, and you will be a blessing [dispensing good to others].

3. నిన్ను ఆశీర్వదించువారిని ఆశీర్వదించెదను; నిన్ను దూషించువాని శపించెదను; భూమియొక్క సమస్తవంశములు నీయందు ఆశీర్వదించబడునని అబ్రాముతో అనగా

3. And I will bless those who bless you [who confer prosperity or happiness upon you] and curse him who curses or uses insolent language toward you; in you will all the families and kindred of the earth be blessed [and by you they will bless themselves]. [Gal. 3:8.]

4. యెహోవా అతనితో చెప్పిన ప్రకారము అబ్రాము వెళ్లెను. లోతు అతనితో కూడ వెళ్లెను. అబ్రాము హారానునుండి బయలుదేరినప్పుడు డెబ్బదియైదేండ్ల యీడు గలవాడు.

4. So Abram departed, as the Lord had directed him; and Lot [his nephew] went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.

5. అబ్రాము తన భార్యయయిన శారయిని తన సహోదరుని కుమారుడయిన లోతును, హారానులో తానును వారును ఆర్జించిన యావదాస్తిని వారు సంపాదించిన సమస్తమైన వారిని తీసికొని కనానను దేశమునకు వచ్చిరి.

5. Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their possessions that they had gathered, and the persons [servants] that they had acquired in Haran, and they went forth to go to the land of Canaan. When they came to the land of Canaan,

6. అప్పుడు అబ్రాము షెకెమునందలి యొక స్థలము దాక ఆ దేశ సంచారముచేసి మోరే దగ్గర నున్న సింధూరవృక్షము నొద్దకు చేరెను. అప్పుడు కనానీయులు ఆ దేశములో నివసించిరి.

6. Abram passed through the land to the locality of Shechem, to the oak or terebinth tree of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.

7. యెహోవా అబ్రామునకు ప్రత్యక్షమయి నీ సంతానమునకు ఈ దేశ మిచ్చెదనని చెప్పగా అతడు తనకు ప్రత్యక్షమైన యెహోవాకు ఒక బలిపీఠమును కట్టెను.

7. Then the Lord appeared to Abram and said, I will give this land to your posterity. So Abram built an altar there to the Lord, Who had appeared to him.

8. అక్కడనుండి అతడు బయలుదేరి బేతేలుకు తూర్పుననున్న కొండకు చేరి పడమటనున్న బేతేలునకును తూర్పుననున్న హాయికిని మధ్యను గుడారము వేసి అక్కడ యెహోవాకు బలిపీఠమును కట్టెను.

8. From there he pulled up [his tent pegs] and departed to the mountain on the east of Bethel and pitched his tent, with Bethel on the west and Ai on the east; and there he built an altar to the Lord and called upon the name of the Lord.

9. అబ్రాము ఇంకా ప్రయాణము చేయుచు దక్షిణ దిక్కుకు వెళ్లెను.

9. Abram journeyed on, still going toward the South (the Negeb).

10. అప్పుడు ఆ దేశములో కరవు వచ్చెను. ఆ దేశములో కరవు భారముగా నున్నందున అబ్రాము ఐగుప్తు దేశములో నివసించుటకు అక్కడికి వెళ్లెను.

10. Now there was a famine in the land, and Abram went down into Egypt to live temporarily, for the famine in the land was oppressive (intense and grievous).

11. అతడు ఐగుప్తులో ప్రవేశించుటకు సమీపించినప్పుడు అతడు తన భార్యయయిన శారయితో ఇదిగో నీవు చక్కనిదానివని యెరుగుదును.

11. And when he was about to enter into Egypt, he said to Sarai his wife, I know that you are beautiful to behold.

12. ఐగుప్తీయులు నిన్ను చూచి యీమె అతని భార్య అని చెప్పి నన్ను చంపి నిన్ను బ్రదుక నిచ్చెదరు.

12. So when the Egyptians see you, they will say, This is his wife; and they will kill me, but they will let you live.

13. నీ వలన నాకు మేలు కలుగునట్లును నిన్నుబట్టి నేను బ్రదుకు నట్లును నీవు నా సహోదరివని దయచేసి చెప్పుమనెను.

13. Say, I beg of you, that you are my sister, so that it may go well with me for your sake and my life will be spared because of you.

14. అబ్రాము ఐగుప్తులో చేరినప్పుడు ఐగుప్తీయులు ఆ స్త్రీ మిక్కిలి సౌందర్యవతియయి యుండుట చూచిరి

14. And when Abram came into Egypt, the Egyptians saw that the woman was very beautiful.

15. ఫరోయొక్క అధిపతులు ఆమెను చూచి ఫరోయెదుట ఆమెను పొగడిరి గనుక ఆ స్త్రీ ఫరో యింటికి తేబడెను.

15. The princes of Pharaoh also saw her and commended her to Pharaoh, and she was taken into Pharaoh's house [harem].

16. అతడామెనుబట్టి అబ్రామునకు మేలుచేసెను; అందువలన అతనికి గొఱ్ఱెలు గొడ్లు మగ గాడిదలు దాసులు పనికత్తెలు ఆడుగాడిదలు ఒంటెలు ఇయ్యబడెను.

16. And he treated Abram well for her sake; he acquired sheep, oxen, he-donkeys, menservants, maidservants, she-donkeys, and camels.

17. అయితే యెహోవా అబ్రాము భార్యయయిన శారయినిబట్టి ఫరోను అతని యింటివారిని మహావేదనలచేత బాధించెను.

17. But the Lord scourged Pharaoh and his household with serious plagues because of Sarai, Abram's wife.

18. అప్పుడు ఫరో అబ్రామును పిలిపించి నీవు నాకు చేసినది యేమిటి? ఈమె నీ భార్య అని నాకెందుకు తెలుపలేదు?

18. And Pharaoh called Abram and said, What is this that you have done to me? Why did you not tell me that she was your wife?

19. ఈమె నా సహోదరి అని యేల చెప్పితివి? నేనామెను నా భార్యగా చేసికొందునేమో అయితే నేమి, ఇదిగో నీ భార్య; ఈమెను తీసికొనిపొమ్మని చెప్పెను.

19. Why did you say, She is my sister, so that I took her to be my wife? Now then, here is your wife; take her and get away [from here]!

20. మరియు ఫరో అతని విషయమై తన జనుల కాజ్ఞాపించినందున వారు అతనిని అతని భార్యను అతనికి కలిగిన సమస్తమును పంపివేసిరి.

20. And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him, and they brought him on his way with his wife and all that he had.
